Beating those blasted GSXs!

I won a Suzuki concept, basically a fast Swift, and entered the Suzuki concept event. Had to soup it up to get even close to those little GSXs and tho I managed gold in two of the races I cant get close on the middle race, (Seatle circuit) they just tear ahead and zip thru the tight corners! I think the highest I can get is 4th, and that's pushing it! And because the payout in gt4 is so low it takes ages to make enough money for an upgrade! The obvious route to take would be to buy one of the little blighters but they'd be phenomenally expensive, plus Ive never seen one come up for sale!
Anyone else beat em?

Of course others have beaten them, but I imagine it was sometime ago and like myself can't remember what I used. Sounds like you need a good power to weight ratio car, with lots of horsepower and a racing or original suspension as low as it can go and the softest tires you can get in that race as well.

I would be more helpful but I have to many pans in the fire these days. Good luck!

I had a lot of trouble with them at the Tsukuba, had to put in some nitrogen. And you can't buy the GSX anywhere, it can only be won, and guess where? I should say that this was done at the time when I didn't knew much about car tuning. You can win alot with only fiddling with the suspension and gears.

Well iirc you don't have the opportunity to buy one. You can just earn it, and it's done by winning the one-make race (Suzuka east?).

The GSXs are indeed bloody fast and you'll need every kind of upgrade on your concept in order to win. Even some road blocking and dirty driving was required for average drivers like me

Take a look at the 200 point thread. The Suzuki Concept races are discussed at various points in the 200 point Japanese One-Make Thread.

With a decent tune you can beat the Suzuki GSX-R/4's on N3 tires

Dotini has posted an excellant tune at post # 110.

Good luck,

I got NA Tuning level 2, R3 tires and some minor parts, like the Racing Chip and Weight Reduction Stage 1. Those should make the race easy enough.

Man, I won't lie those gsx-r4's are a pita to beat. But, it will pay off when you have one because brother they are fun. It's the fastest car to be had with under 300hp(fully tuned) ~250hp(U.S.) and it'll do 220+mph with ample acceleration. shifting is quick and buttery smooth. You'll love it.

Err, we have to catch fish??

The GSX's are tough to catch but well worth the effort.

If you use a decent line(up) you can reel them in!

If you use the right angle(r) thru the turns, victory will be yours.

Their size is small but they can b(eat) many fish in the sea.

Yeah it just looks mad ;)

The GSX-R4 is great also to try a real challenge of doing the El Captan enduro with no pit stop. It gets quite hairy about 3/4 the way through when the N1's have gone red :)

Good grief, why N1's? The GSX-R/4 will get 200 points on R2's (but you do need a stop of course).

So what are the points used for? More points, more money? Cos I really need that as Im down to less than 1,000 cr thanks to this ruddy race, and I still have to get my Toyota MR2 thru the MR challenge!

The points are just for bragging rights and nothing else. If your that low on funds you may have to go rerace an event your confident in winning and get the prize car from it and sell it.

Yea I do the FF challenge over. Only question is when it gives the option Clear/ Don't Clear I have for now always ticked Dont clear. If I clear will I win a car again?

Yep, as Jet Badger says. You'll find that cash is actually very easy to come by in GT4. For more info look here.

Oh, and on a championship series you don't have to clear any trophies first.

Well i did the FF challenge over but forgot what the car is thst you win is! And it's a ruddy Mazda concept! Useless cos you can't sell it or race it! What's the point of such silly cars?

There's all the beauty of GT4 - some cars seem to be the same, but they're different - different handling, different details on the body, different purpose. For example I have 5 Honda NSXes. It's fun to compare different models like '02 NSX Type R and '92 NSX Type R, to see how different they are (I love the sound of the older one). There is probably a million types of skylines and Imprezas in the game - I'm not a fan of either of those, but for someone, who likes them, it would be like a gold mine - so many choices!

I wouldn't mind 10 NSXs as long as you could race them! But to have a car there just for the sake of it is pointless!

Every car in the game has a statement in the automotive history books. Wait, I just made a similar post to this earlier. If you find it you'll know. A lot of these cars are really meant to be driven stock to give you an idea of the agony of driving some of these older cars and allow you to better appreciate modern technology. Like the 280Z, A full tuned one is only good for getting a bit of a challenge in the Z one make races. But, stock it's so much fun for track meets and practice runs, little side note It's also a gorgeous car.
