Is there anyone else here, like me, that thinks it's more fun trying to get a car that nobody else is using to run fast? For instance, practically everyone in the 650pp Fuji race is using the Clio or M3 and setting record laps. I for one like to be different, so I plan on using the Amuse/Opera 350Z and have been since the racing there started.

Mainly because it sounds great, looks great, and handles like a dream with the right setup. I've got my best time in that car down to a 1:43.201, but I know for sure there is a 1:42.xxx in it, if I can get a perfect lap down.

Anyone else here like to sway a different direction from everyone else and use something different?

Most GTP_Drivers are in the M3 because of the 02 event,i am sure you would see quite a few other types of cars out there if not for this..The amuse/opera 350z is a great car,i think i seen you last night,do you drive a blue one?.

I love using different car's. I'll race once with something right there, like the 350z or S2000; then I'll try car's like the Lexus...

I like to use my ISF to run against R8, S2000 and other supercars... its more fun to have and R8 behind you that can't pass that anyone beacause you use a supercar. U know what I mean?

Dark blue, yeah. I actually switched it up last night. Installed the tune I was using on an Orange one, so will be using that car from now on.

Alot of people run different cars in normal events. Due to event 2 people have been running the M3 to get better and keep up with the competition.

When its over Im sure it will be back to normal.

We ran the Amuse Grand Opera as an Event car over at PSU last weekend and it was a great time! That car is so positive for a rear wheel drive car and I'd recommend it to anyone.

This week there was a huge turn out for the Tuner's Pit event that featured the Audi TT. We had guys getting that car down sub 2:13 in open air which was great to see. It's a car that I'd recommend you try out if you get the chance. It seems that so many people write it off simply because you can't adjust the final drive ratio which is a shame with a little TLC it's quite competitive.

This weekend we're all running the 02 GTR R34 which has shown itself to be very fun at both the 600 Suzuka Event & the 650 Fuji 10 lapper. Once again there's people running it in the 2:13's and 1:43's respectively.

I'd agree that there's tons of overlooked cars that can shine quite easily when they're given some track time. 👍

This goes all the way back to when I was playing PGR2 online when it came out. One of the download packs had an M3 CSL in it. Everyone in the races would picks Corvette's, Vipers, etc. I would always choose the M3. Even the race host would be like, "You want to keep that car?"

I would proceed to kill everyone with it.:D

"Who's up front?"
"What are you driving?"
"Damn you're good!"

Jaguar XK for the win. That and the 512BB were/are my favourite "different cars", though more for them also being underdogs in their races.
The Aston Martin and the TVR's are rarely used as well and are fast and fun to drive.

Like others have said M3 is in use so much due to GTP race event 2, i myself switched to the M3 recently having used the 512 BB at Fuji and daytona Road

Yeah, me. I like to drive the 'dominant' car for awhile early after an event update, just to see what the target times are for an event. After a week or so, I'll get a Delta HF to go 2:15, or an Audi TT under 2:14 at the current 600pp Suzuka race. :) Much more fun and interesting to me.

Yes,
I never use GTR, S2000, Tuned Clio, or other dominant cars

I use slower car, and Sure I won't be in 1st place, but I get in the middle and with a lot of fun and its fun to be different.

Can't wait for Private racing..

Always use the Subaru Imprezza in this race as it enables you to go to 649PP and use full R3 tires. I know I lose on the straight but everything is made up in the corners and late braking. I ended up getting punted off by the Clio's and the Ferrari's down to sheer jealousy, IMHO.

share your set up with me/us and i'll give it a go

i play the daytona pro road event once in a while, and M3's have been popping up all over and whooping me up at that in my rx7!. I played someone from here, forgot the PSN name, but MAN was he fast. Just trying to keep up i made soo many mistakes :indiff: I also like to differentiate once in a while if i'm able to do so and still be with the pack. I don't want to be different/underdog and then end up racing alone. I enjoy the bumper-to-bumper racing the most, don't really care about the win. :)👍

Imagine what it will be like when the full version comes out. Hundreds of different cars to pick from. Full 16-car fields with no 2 people in the same car. 💡

Hopefully the pp system will be level, with no "magic" cars like the clio, ferrari c, and gtlm...

Iv'e been using the Aston Martin DB9, not really competative (1'44's) but I enjoy driving something differernt and I like the sound.

650pp Amuse/Opera 350z. This is thanks to clacksman. I changed up the gearing so that you don't shift right before making a turn.

I'm completely indifferent to the narrowness of my competition's selections, but I try new things every once in a while. I did pretty good at Daytona with my Viper on N3's. I really miss the N3 races.

Absolutely so. the last set of events , fwd-Fuji , I was running a Mini Cooper , and I loved it.Yeah , I got my tail spanked on ocassion by the Integra's , but then too , there were times where the Mini opened up a can of whoop ass on those Integra's , Focuses , Golfs as well. No better feeling than being an underdog , and winning. :sly:

Hell yes. I love driving the Delta on Suzuka, and the best part is to look at people's faces when you actually win. And yes, I know you can't really see people's faces. Back when the Suzuka event was exclusive to RWDs, I loved driving the Ars Morrison 'Vette. I never won that one. :D

Me too, miss tyre restriction. Only way too keep all away from R3. People get way too confident with R3, and take way too risky overtakes.

I race what I want too, even if its alot slower. And its useally an RWD :)
