Although no one realised it at the time, the 1999 Bentley Hunaudieres was a huge hint at what the Bugatti Veyron would be like, both mechanically and visually. The Hunaudieres shares a striking visual resemblance to the Veyron, and is even powered by a less powerful version of its very engine - a 630 bhp, 8 litre W16.

Fitted with all wheel drive and weighing almost the same as the Veyron, the Hunaudieres performs well : 60 mph arrives in just 3.4 seconds, and its mighty engine thunders on to a max speed of 220 mph.

Although the Hunaudieres never reached production, it would be very cool to be able to drive this beast on the racetracks of GranTurismo.

GT needs more Bentleys and this may not be a good starting point....oh who am I kidding of course I want it in GT!!

Same engine as well, but the Bentley had it in a de-tuned 630 bhp spec. The Hunaudieres was basically a huge teaser for the Veyron.

My Dad was working for Bentley at the time (He worked for RR & BMC and stayed with Bentley after the two were split up), and I remember him saying apparently everyone there was surprised when the Germans dropped this in their lap. It basically had nothing to do with Bentley just VW slapping the Bentley branding on something they were doing anyway.

Cool. Yeah I wish they had pursued this project, a proper Bentley supercar...
