Did you see KnightRider 2000? They put Kitt into a Concept Thunderbird.

Set in the year 2000, this one had everything: Devon Miles' death, Michael Knight in retired life (a blatant continuity error here, Michael said in Good Day at White Rock that he hates fishing!), and KITT even gets transplanted into a '57 Chevy before finally ending up right at home in the body of the newly-developed Knight Industries Four Thousand (pictured), complete with all new super gadgets (including Virtual Reality technology, although we never got to find out what it was really for).
However, despite an appearance by Star Trek's own James Doohan and The X Files' Mitch Pileggi as a business-suited bad guy, the pilot didn't fare as well as it might have done and the proposed series never became a reality.

I'm afraid you're all mistaken.

The best car ever is a tie for the Subaru WRX STi and the Mitsubishi Evolution VII.

Of course, that's just one man's opinion.

I saw the word "tie" and imediatly thought of the best car ever ... the Incom Corporation X-Wing Fighter.

Class: Incom Corporation T-65B X-Wing Space Superiority Starfighter

Size: 12.5 Meters Long

Speed: 1,050 Kilometers per hour in Atmosphere

Capacity: 1 Pilot, 1 Astromech Droid and 110 Kilograms of Cargo

Weapons: 4 Taim & Bak KX9 Laser Cannons and 2 Krupx MG7 Proton Torpedo Launchers.

I mean, you can out run your friends, then turn around and blow them to smithereans. What can be better?!? (:

I'd say RX-7.......all of them. They were engineering feats, with the 2 rotors, and some with twin turbos(93 and later), engine behind the front wheels, 50-50 wieght distribution. It's all good. :D

What about Japanese tri-rotor engines? That would be even better.

Best car of all time though? Someone in another thread claimed that the Cooper Mini was the best car of all time because it has lasted longer than any other car in one model. I think he said something like 20+ years without a redesign. I find that pretty impressive.

But this is all assuming that the topic is refering to production 'off the assembly line' automobiles. If you get away from that and take into account all the concept cars, custom modified cars, race cars, and specialty cars (like the Lunar Rover) ... the list is nearly endless to choose from.

When people start threads like this, they need to define a few more rules.

Well, the 3 rotors are the newer cosmo, and some of the racing cars, and is fairly new compared to the 2 rotor engine.

Yea, the Mini is a great car, I can just see myself zipping around town in one, but I like the older ones better, and the Morris's with that hydrolastic suspension.......my uncle had one before I was born, and they show it in the old SV comercials going off the ground. Now that would be fun. :D

I was talking about the old Mini ... it would be rather difficult for the BRAND NEW ONE to have been around 20+ years. It wouldn't be very brand new ... Although, I would really like to have a new one, or an old one ... either way I think it'd be a blast! (:

Most exotics are great cars, so I won't refer to them.
The best Japanese imports cars are: 3000GT, Skyline, RX-7, Supra, 300ZX, Evo VII, WRX, NSX. Feel free to add to this list.

IMO, the best car ever would be the MKIV Toyota Supra Twin Turbo with that oh-so-sweet 2JZ-GTE I6...

Subaru BRAT ownz all of j00!!! :P :P :P

11 gears + reverse, "cyclops" headlight, rear-facing bed seats (with handles!), AWD, and even dual sunroofs, plus the ultimate combination of car and truck (a full decade before the "hybrids" came out)... jeez, this car is a dream! Too bad the name didn't sell... :(

(NOTE: My family actually owns one. It's sitting in our front yard, and needs a little re-working... I plan to give it life once I get older and have more $$$)

Best car is mine, Chevy Cavalier :P

Seriously, this is a crap shoot, there are too many types of cars to pick. In the American spirit of "bigger is better" I nominate the Komatsu Haulpack 930-E Dump Truck:

LINK

You can run over a full size pickup and not know about it! Any truck that has a friggen staircase on the radiator has my vote

Macka

Edit: pic not working, click the Link

I couldnt agree more...I think the MKIV Supra is one of the best all around cars you can buy

K.I.T.T. kicks ass. And I think that is a Banshee or based on one, not a Thunderbird concept.

C'mon, the best car of all time?

THE YUGO!

I mean, it came with bicycle tires, cost a little more than a few happy meals, and when you got it, you filled the tank with gas, and by the time the tank was empty, it was time to throw the car away! (If it even lasted that long). A disposable automobile! Back in an age when nearly everything was made to be disposable (mid-80s, I think), it set a new standard.
