My favourite is the BMW M5, surprisingly.

And my second-favourite is the new E-class with the V8. Yum.

M5... power, looks, handling, exclusivity, and it can carry the family around in comfort. If you want an all out performance beast I'd say otherwise, but an M5 for all-around... life.

You know, if we had a poll right now, the M5 would be tied with every single other car on the face of Earth.

Well, the M5 is not exclusive, I see about 4-5 a day in my area alone. There are alot more of them than you might think.

For under $100,000 USD I would get: Esprit, 911 Turbo (Used), 360 Modena (used), Maserati 3200GT.

I saw a 1999 Ferrari 360 Modena for sale for $157,000 CDN. What a steal.

A TVR Tuscan Speed 6 would be my choice (of course, I have no clue what it costs though...)

Where do you live?! I mean are they the same 4 or 5 every day, because I could understand that, but I see two or three a month if I'm looking out for them.
But M5 still gets my vote... no contenders really....
[./edit!]Well, I guess you could consider the Dinan M5 as a contender... I'd prefer it anyway, but I think it's 105k$ anyway... but if I HAD to choose something else... the new Infiniti is pretty sexy as a daily driver.[./edit!]

How about that Stagea wagon or whatever? That would be great, I think it has the Skyline powertrain in a more family-oriented chassis. Wahoo

He sort of likes to knock the M5 -- I'd be surprised if there were over twenty M5's registered in the whole of Alberta. In my life, I've seen less than thirty M5's (of course, the first seventeen years were M5less because of where I lived), and some of those could've been overly-modded 540i's.

I've only seen 4 new M5's. That's not counting trips to the local BMW dealerships, either.

Is that British or American currency? For British Pounds, I'd have to say the TVR Tuscan R. It'd leave a good UK-30,000 for fuel for the month. (Skyline GT-R would be a nice alternative. Makes it under the limit, too, at US$86,000.)

But I think you meant US currency, so for that I'd say Porsche 911 C4S. Porsche AWD, a bit more power than the standard 911, and -- best of all -- it's a 911. Much can't go wrong with that...

You're casting a pretty wide net. Maybe you should be more specific. Are you looking for best performance? If so, then what specifically? Straight line? Top speed? Best handling? Best compromise of all? What about most economical? Most livable? Most reliable? What exactly are you looking for?

Haha, Alberta is one of the richest provinces, its probably richer than most states. There is so much oil,the people here dont know what to do with it all. I went to school with well over 20 people whos parents are literally millionaires. The economy here has been booming for the last 20 years and it is officially the second fastest growing ciy in North America.

I am not joking about seeing 4-5 M5's a day (If I am actually driving around). There was an article in the newspaper about how the City of Calgary sells more ultra luxury and performance cars (cars upwards of $100,000USD) per capita than anywhere in Canada. There are 2 M5's I see sometimes on the way home because they are parked in their driveways. But I honestly see 4-5 a day just around town and in this sector of the City (SouthWest). I see a 911 once every 2 weeks and an NSX about once a month. I have seen about 5 360 Modena's here since they came out. I have seen about 12 911 Turbos since 1999 and 3 Lamborghini's (2 Countach, 1 Diablo. I also got a ride in a 1984 Lambo Jalpa)

I am not joking, and I am not bashing the M5 by telling you guys this. My best friend drives a 2001 MB C320 and his dad has an S55 AMG as his daily driver. Anyways.

What if you had little baby Hooligans? Then you'd need something practical.

They'd each get a Caterham R300. In tow. Until age 6, when they should be able to drive their damned selves. (Trust me, if I had kids, I'm sure they'd be damned.)

But, uh, back to reality: Audi RS6 Avant. If I'm driving the kids to gramma's, I'm sure as heck getting there in a hurry.

Skyline GTR all the way.

The BMW M3 and M5 are nice touring cars but from what I just saw at the last drag day I am not impressed with their accleration at all. The best was a 2002 M3 which managed a 13.8.

BTW my little darling did a personal best of 12.1 @ 115.8 mph :)

agh, it'd be better if its best car under $110,000. Because then i'd get the Top Secret Supra(700hp 3s-gte engine=awesome circuit car!!!) but im pretty sure that car isnt street legal. . .i'd go with a Skyline GT-R Nur Spec!!!
