No matter what racing series you look into, you'll see some of the same sponsors. You know... Mobil 1, Budweiser, Jagermister, Marlboro, Denso, or whatever. Maybe you'll see a few that may not be seen on other cars, like the D2 AMG Mercedes, Team Oreca (I so miss that Viper team. They were one of the best, if not one of the most recognizable), the paint for the Supercheap Racing Team in Australian V8s, that sort of thing. Talk about your favorite paintschemes. Maybe it looks best on one specific machine. What are your favorites?

First to come to my mind was the penzoil racing teams from the last 25 years, and also the sunoco (sp?) racing of the 60's/70's. I also love currently the Goodwrench yellow Corvettes of the ALMS.
King Richard's STP
Dale Earnhardt's yellow/blue Wrangler stock car

King Richard Petty in NASCAR,the old Benneton in F1 and you got to love the Bently's from LeMans.

I'd say the team Gulf GT40's of the 60's they were the most regognizable IMO, I also like Jeff gordon's current paintjob, it seems to stick out alot more and is the only car in nextal cup with such noticable flames.

This is my favorite.

I like this simple one also.

Found one more.

Peter Floyd's HSV looks very nice in those colours.
Craig Lowndes' "Green Eyed Monster" is the best looking car the V8 Supercars championship history in my opinion.
Nothing makes "Racing Stripes" or "Go Faster Stripes" look as good as a Viper does.
But Peter Brock's 1984 VK Commodore is still my fave.

The Martini Porsches of the late 70s were extremely cool, and the Zakspeed Fords with their Jägermeister paintjobs were also very cool... Orange Rules :D

Hmmm.. Slightly scary that my two favorites are both alcohol related

You'll like this one, then.

The Gulf colours on the 917, the GT40, and the R8. Those are the only three cars that light blue and orange work on.

The Lancia Delta, in Martini colours, and the all the Mitsubishi Evos except the VIII, and the Toyota Celica in Castrol colours.

Another good one was the Jordan 191, with 7up livery.

1997 (I think) to 1999 Nissan Primera GT BTCC car.

Oh and the old Sierra Cossie Black and red Texaco touring car.

Hey Solid Lifters, that Porsche looks like it has been put together with bits and pieces of other Porsches with those panels.
That Texaco Sierra is an Eggenberger Sierra that came to Bathurst as part of the World Touring Car Championship in 1987. They were disqualified for using illegal fuel.

Okay, I created the thread, so it means that I must have my own picks for best paintschemes. A modern example are those green Bentley EXP GTs that raced and won Le Mans in 2003. They came and went, but not without winning what I consider to be the ultimate feat for ANY car company. They were British Racing Green and had little streaks of silver or white, and almost every shot I seen of them in 2003, each shot was a beauty. Another modern example of lovliness is the Gulf McLaren. It's a far cry from the legendary sky blue and orange of the Ford GT40, but the Gulf McLarens look pretty nice. The Rohr Porsche GT1 that I can remember had a yellow color, three dashes of other colors on the sides, and it was pretty nice. I think a year later, that yellow outside color was now white. It was a colorful machine, and probably the best to be colorful and not be something to turn eyes away from. Only Ferrari can have the Momo sponsorship. My favorite ever race car was the Momo Ferrari 333SP. Sometimes, I wish I could one day have a scale model of that red and yellow Ferrari 333SP. I've seen it on some Ferrari Challenge cars, and they look nice ONLY on Ferraris.

In terms of older models, I can remember the Coca-Cola Porsche 962C. One of my favorite car colors is red, and it's pretty cool to take a drive in. The Ford GT40 has nice colors. They are highly rememberable, and you can even get the Ford GT in the classic colors if you so chose. But to me, too many lines and a little too modern to bear the classic Gulf colors for the new GT.

You mean this one?

Right on again, Solid. You must have been looking at the Racing Sportscar link in my signature have you?
But yeah, that's the machine I was talking about. I mean, you couldn't ask for a sexier, more powerful machine than the Bentley EXP GT to win Le Mans. Maybe I'm a little anti-Audi R8, but this machine is lovely and capable. The rest of you have mentioned some wonderful machinery. By the way, Solid, I got that picture on my computer. Other than that, keep the thread doing, folks.

That Racing Sports Cars website in my site features many sweet machines. I'll go look that site up right now and look for some more nice machinery.

If you went to Sebring that year for the 12 hours, you would've saw the car up-close in personal. I got a few shots right next to the car. I even got a peek of Inside of it and the engine bay. :)

It seems the last Porsche GT1 from 1998's winners podium has been long forgotten. But this has to be one of the most beautiful cars ever. And one of the best looking paint schemes. Even though this image is a model car image, but it just looks as good.

Pimp Racer's reply on Pst #27 is a Venturri, if I'm not mistaken. The paintscheme is similar. It kind of reminds me of Flame Dragon from Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3 that races in Nagoya. The ride was a Dodge Viper, but looked like it had snake scales on it. Interesting pick, Pimp Racer.

To be totally honest, I find almost all racing livery extremely boring.

I find the Donut King cars quite amusing, especially this one:

But if I had to pick a colour scheme I really like, it would be the works Impreza in the WRC (Sorry that I'm so boring, but I just think they're nice colours):
