Best Free Alternatives to Windows Movie Maker

I have tried making a movie about this years Le Mans, but Movie Maker crashes - a lot (evidently not a strakka racing fan...).

What are good free alternatives to Windows Movie Maker?

Have you been using the lastest Windows Live Movie Maker? (the one thats not part of Windows but you have to download).

I have tried the latest one (windows live movie maker) and windows movie maker 2.6.

Oh right, because I was thinking that maybe the newer ones wouldn't be so buggy and you might find they work better for what your trying to do.

I don't really know of any other good free PC alternatives but you could try the Video Editor on the PS3, it offers decent basic functionality 👍

Are there any linux movie makers/editors?

I have a set of .jpg's that I would like to stitch together into an .mp4 or .avi or whatever (think time-lapse photography).

I would recommend Windows Movie Maker 2.6.

Then install Windows Media Encoder 9.

Windows Media Encoder 9 will allow you to make custom video profiles for WMM 2.6 so you can have HD with a high bitrate.

But i know of no good free video editors for windows.

Avidemux is a good free video converter.
