Please help me find a stable car that can turn without losing a second in the longer straights. I’ve never been this close to a mental breakdown because of a game and I couldn’t find anything on here. My hands are literally shaking out of anger typing this up. Not even lake maggiore was this hard. Thank you in advance

Maggiore is considerably harder. You just need to practice the track more. It's a crap circuit, I'm not going to lie. The top of the mountain doesn't leave much space for clean passing, so it's a bit of a demolition derby up there.

I would recommend trying to gold the circuit experience for the track. That is run in a McLaren Gr.3. Once you got that sorted out, the race is easy.

Never tried it but it's a fun track imo. For the recent online time trial, the meta car was obviously the Genesis, people also found some success with the RSR, RCZ, and Supra. BoP has changed since then though so who knows.

It’s one of my favorite tracks to drive so that’s not an issue. Even with cutting the chicane on the top of the mountain, I just can’t keep up with the other cars turning onto the back straight coming off the mountain or right after the first turn because they just pull away.

I’ll give the McLaren a try now. Thanks for the recommendation

Tried the RCZ as that was the best car for me for maggiore, but it’s too slow. Tried the GT-Rs, they are like if I was racing against Usain Bolt. I’ll check the Supra and Renault too.

Any recommendations on when to get gas?

No idea. Might try it later and report back, I'm not especially quick though :)

Managed to win it in the 911 yesterday. Gained all the time in the Mountain, lost some in the Straits.
Car ist very fuel efficient, so i could do a 6 lap stint and overcut the Ford GT spec II. Only fuel, No tires.
The Supra ist very torqy, especially with worn tires.

I actually just did this race today, using the same Corvette C7 Gr.3 that I've usually used, as it was a prize car from the missions. My advice is not to tinker with the fuel map, as you'll be fine just leaving it on 1. I'd also pit for fuel exactly halfway through, at the end of lap 5. While you're in the pits, you may as well do what I did and get a new set of Racing Hards, too.

I also noticed that the AI's slower spots are the two broader turns that come right before you start heading downhill. I've found you can even take each of them in 5th gear rather than 4th.

I did that challenge a few weeks back as well. Whatever car you choose, I think the key is to try and nail the mountain sector because that's where the AI seems the slowest and that's where you can make most of the time. If I remember correctly I used the newer AMG GT3 and I pitted at the end of lap 6 just for fuel and comfortably won that event. By the time I went into the pits I was already P1.

The genesis looks very promising, but the leader still puts around 2 seconds a lap between us even when I’m cheating on the top of the mountain… this is the only race I haven’t been able to win.

Thank you each and every one of you giving me advice! It’s greatly appreciated

the first turn because they just pull away.
Whenever the AI is faster directly out of any corner, this can mean
1. the cars could be tuned differently (not the case for BoP enabled races)
2. you are using TCS and take a line that loses traction
3. you take a line that doenst allow you to step on the accelerator as early as the next sector begs for.

2. and 3. are practice resolved with practice, and practice will yield the best results when you stick to the one car you feel most comfortable with. While some cars could propably better or worse than your current favourite, always changing it will introduce too many new variables to try to figure out.

For other races I usually have traction on 1 or 0. However for the GT3 races I set it to 2 or even 3 depending on the car because you've got to be on full power straight out of the bend or you'll lose distance. For me winning GT3 races is all about getting the entry speed correct.... you really have to learn how to go on full attack without overcooking your entry speed. The other thing is finding that special car for each circuit!
