I'm looking into a better ISP for my parents. We're currently paying $100+ for 6mbps and we're looking for something that can either match the price and be better or be lower in price and be better. If you have any suggestions just leave a comment. Thanks!

I'm paying $34/month for 50mb/s from Time Warner Cable. I seem to have some special deal though because when I moved and transferred my service the lady on the phone had no idea why my bill as so low. I've heard some bad things said about Time Warner but they've always been great to me. In the almost two years I've had their service my internet has been down a total of about 6 hours and they have always had fantastic customer service.

Call around. $100.00 a month for that poor of a connection (1mb down/0.3 up) is WAY beyond horrible.

I pay around $79.00 for around 30mb down / 5 mb up . If I pay $10.00 more a month I can double both. But not really necessary. In fact I purposely downgraded my internet because I did not need 50mb download.

I'm assuming it is DSL. My parents have Bellsouth (or whoever bought them out, AT&T maybe?) DSL internet because it is the only thing offered at their house and they pay over $70 a month for less than 3mb/s download, I don't know the upload. Hopefully @phillkillv2's parents are able to get cable to their house.

Even DSL is faster than that. That must be some sort of satellite connection. Very similar to what my nephew had. Connections like that just making online gaming almost impossible. It was very rare for me to ever be able to play online with my nephew. If anyone else got on in his house, it was over.
