Would like to get some opinions here. I had fraps when I bought the PC, but have since upgraded to windows 8 and I don't believe they make a version for W8 yet.

So, what are the best options?

Actually I found out since I have windows 8.1 it has a screen capture thing built in. :) Push Windows + Print Screen and it saves them to a "screenshots" folder within the Pictures folder.

If you have an Nvidia graphics card, they have their own software: Geforce Experience. It's built to work directly with the GPUs architecture to lessen the burden on the system. You can customize the recording quality and so on. It also records the desktop, not just in games should you choose.

No Invidia.

Screenshot capture: Windows' Snipping Tool. Part of Windows 7 and later.

Video capture: for Nvidia users, ShadowPlay (part of GeForce Experience). For everyone else, Dxtory with the Lagarith Lossless codec.

Only programs you ever need for image and video capture. :)

I have used FRAPS on W8.1 and works perfect there. 👍
Yeah I downloaded it a couple days ago, haven't had a chance to use it though.

Thanks.

Figured out the other day that since all my games are from Steam, I can just use F12 to snap photos. :P

Looks like I can do video with it too, haven't figured it out yet.
