Best settings

Right I'm having trouble with the World Champ series. (The last one in the professional league). What cars and settings do people recommend?

I've been using B-Spec to save time but only managing to finish mostly 3rd all the time in my Nissan FairladyZ Concept - tuned to 947 BHP. I haven't modified the settings, but doing this could make it better. :sly:

I've also tried the Gillet Race Car - near enough 1000 BHP, but this doesn't seem that great on B-Spec mode. (I never have the patience to sit and race 10 races on A-Spec now!)
And the OPTION Stream Z - 962 BHP, I've also tried. It seems to do better than the Gillet (?!) which is unusual. :indiff:

Also, what tyres should I use? Hard ones? Try and last the whole race, while the other cars pit-in?

Any help would be great! :dunce:

Depending on the number of laps, if there are a lil number of laps use the super soft tires cause they stick like glue, or soft. But for a lil more try using the medium racing they are the "average" in terms of tire grip

For suspension settings, you have a lot of info on the forum, but I'll try to help with 2 items. Tyres and Gearbox.

Tyres:

Use practice (when available) or go to the specific track on free run and find out what lap times you can do with certain tyres and how many laps they last.

Then divide the number of laps on the race by the the number of laps you can do with each set, getting the number of pit stops needed. This prevents you from pitting on lap 8 of a 10 lap race when you could do without, or pit on lap 5 with softer tyres and be a lot faster. Also helps you plan and prevents you from piting 10 times instead of 7 on a long race.

Depending on race lenght, you should pit more often, but the longer the race, the more important tyre strategy will be. In a long race, saving the time of 2 pit stops will make a big difference. I use 3 different strategies.
- No pit. For the real short ones (up to 10 laps) , I try not to pit at all, but if I do, I choose the tyres that will allow me to split the race in half.
- Race flat out with softer tyres making every lap count and pit more often, for mid/short races (>10 and <30 laps)
- Race smothly and constant on harder tyres to save tyres and pit lane trips. For the long ones.

Or... just try to have an idea on how fast the oponents are, and use tyres that will allow you to be a bit quicker than them, without having to be allways in the pit lane.

Gearbox:

Get a fully custumizable gearbox and set it up like this:
- Shorten top gear (usualy 6th) to the max.
- Set up the final gear to leave the car 500 or 750rpm bellow red line on the longest straight (you will need aditional revs for slip-streaming). To do this you will need to set-up, test and set-up again until it's right.
- Set up 1st and 2nd gears to the longest setting
- Adjust 3rd, 4th an 5th to keep the gaps progressively smaller (and/or according to your needs in certain corners)

This way you will get:
1 - Closest gearing possible with the best acceleration, for a certain needed top speed
2 - You only do it once. When you need to change the setup, just change the final gear to match the top speed you need on one track. This saves a lot of set-up time...
