Best wheel for drifting?

So recently I've tried this drifting malarchy over here from forza. It seems like it would be real good and fun however I'm just not feeling it with the standard controller. Heck if I'm going to learn I may as well start off the way everyone else drifts on here.

So to the point. I'm looking for a cheap but reliable wheel with force feedback?

Hope you pro drifters can give some good feedback. Thanks. :)

DFGT provides the most bang for the buck. If you feel like spending a lot more for not much extra, go with the G25/G27. Its simple really.

Tbh, the g25/g27 is a huge step up from the dfgt.
However, me and another guy are thinking about swapping the motors in the dfgt with a brushless one. But it might be hard to find one, as its very big. Also you would have to have the right power supply, etc.
Anyway, ic we find a motor to fit it it shouldnt be hard to connect, just screw in two screws, connect the power supply, put the plate back in place, and done.

I just cant justify the price for what you get is all, the DFGT has everything you need to be able to drift on this game. An e-brake rig helps though.

The dfgt is going to be better because It's fully compatible.

I have a g27, And I had my second g27 come back after a couple days ago. And It had the same problem My other one had!

When you do finally get a working g27 its better for racing. But the dfgt is better for drifting

I am not kidding.

But my favorite wheel was the wheel I first got.

A 65$ gamestop wheel...

It might of only been 270degrees turning, And no Force feed back.

But the bump shifter had a 3 slot thing when you push the bump shifter to the right side it was a handbrake.

God I missed those days....:indiff:

That sounds pretty sweet, the more expensive wheel manufactures should take note and do something like that.

In fact, g25 is better than g27, but they both have the same problem, little parts in the turning mechanism, which suffer the most, are made out of plastic.

That can be fixed tho :)

Hate to rain on the parade cro but the FFB of the G25/G27 is miles ahead of the DFGT. I listen to your groans of frustration and remember those same pains when I was on my DFP.

G27 takes about a tenth the effort of the older ones and shows in many many videos. Sorry but the extra price is justified in the steering FFB alone, not to mention having a clutch, box, decent sized paddles and real leather that has such a better feel than the dodgey rubber stuff that grains in your hand when you try to drift.

My mind is blown from this.:boggled:

It depends on the price you want to pay. If you want to be cheap then get the DFGT. If you want a wheel that has great pedals, a gated shifter, and great FFB than buy the G25/27. If you want a wheel that works on Xbox, PS3, & PC and has what the G25/27 has buy a Fanatec. That simple

Thats what i meant too, but as i said earlier- The main problems of G25/27 is about the small parts being made of plastic, those which get raped by us while trying to drift etc.

I did not mention about the power adapter problem tho, that is another part which appears to fail on some models, mine died cause of that, now its been standing 2 years, sent it to a friend to open up and see whats the problem in Lack of the turning motoristics. Result : Got wheel back in 540 degrees. Now sent it to an accountance(spelt wrong..) to see if the power adapter is the problem and to open it up and fix the degrees, i hope to see positive results like getting it back as a working legend again(I really miss my baby ;(.

Allright thanks. Think thats only £80 here in the UK pretty affordable.

I got mine in cash converters for 30.
But my fave drift wheel is the DF ex that i bought for gt4. I dont use the gt for drifting as its unrealistic. Pro drift cars have a tiny rotation so i think the "900 drifter so automatically the best" argument is a bit stupid.

But we have fun, dont we? :)

I miss my dfp and its non-working paddles (shift no gears or 2 gears in one row), on-off pedals and broken 900° mode.

Well I used it since GT4P and since then it suffered hard treatment on GT4, Enthusia, Rfactor and LFS (especially Enthusia and LFS).
When I first got my G27 it was a totally different word, like going from a point and shoot compact camera to a DSLR.

You must have had a bad DFP. I've had mine since GT5P and have not had one issue with it.
