BGM Mute

Hi there. Is there any way to completely mute all background music in this game? I've set the BGM volume in the options to zero, but the pre-race and race BGM still play at maximum volume.

BTW, I'm playing the NTSC-U version.

EDIT: Come on, 74 views and zero answers? A simple yes or no would be enough.

I am not sure (since it is years that i've played GT2) but have you adjusted all sliders concerning Music?

Wasn't there a slider for every different backgroundmusic (menu, replay, when driving)?

That's all I can think of for the moment …

There's only one slider for BGM and I've set it to zero, but the only BGM that is muted is regular menu BGM. The BGM in the options menu, in the pre-race menu and during races still play.

EDIT: Am I right in thinking that no one knows the answer to this? If the answer really is "NO", then I'd appreciate someone coming forth and saying "NO">

There's a slider for Music and a separate one for Effects: 0 = muted.

Effects are are the bells and whistles of selecting items, car/track noises, but none of the songs/music while you race or visit dealerships/races/My Home.

To remove the "selection sounds", you have to mute everything; which includes engines, tire squealing, et cetera.

By your logic, I'd hear nothing if I turned both to zero. I've tried exactly that, yet the BGM in the option menu where I do this still plays at FULL VOLUME no matter what my BGM/SFX settings are. So how come it the options BGM and the race BGM don't go away with the BGM slider at zero?

which includes engines, tire squealing, et cetera.
These I want to keep.

songs/music while you race or visit dealerships/races/My Home.
These I do not. With the BGM slider at zero, I still get "songs/music while you race".

Does my copy have a weird issue that can't be duplicated?

I think it could be a bug on the NTSC version of the game.

I tested this on the PAL version, when I set the slider of Music Volume to zero, all BGM's have been muted, the menu's BGM, race and replay's BGM too. Only the car sound remained with volume.

Tested on both Arcade and Simulation Discs.

Could someone else with an NTSC-U version weigh in on this? Also, how do I check which NTSC-U version I have? I heard there were multiple.

I find it very hard to believe that I'm the only one getting this issue. Some input from fellow owners of any NTSC-U version of GT2 would be greatly appreciated.
