I could have sworn I started this thread last night but apparently not. Giving it a try via phone... :scared:

The rules are as follows:

  • Entries will accepted until 11:59pm (GMT) August 29th.
  • Each competition's voting will last for one week. The winner of that round will choose the next theme.
  • All entries must have been taken within the last 6 months and preferably after the announcement of the theme.
  • Entries must be posted as a thumbnail no larger than 700px on the longest edge. Full sized images may be as larger as you'd like.*
  • You must submit only your own photographs, do not post anyone else's work.
  • Only one photograph per person, marked with Final Entry. You can change your entry, but must remove your current entry first and clearly state that you have posted a new entry.
  • You must not vote for your own photograph when the Poll is up. Only vote for a photograph taken by another entrant.
  • The photograph must be submitted with the following information: Subject, Date and Camera used and, if you'd like, the major camera settings - shutter speed, ISO, etc.

*While full sized images may be as larger as you'd like, you should try to limit them to approximately 1200px to enable viewing the entire image without scrolling. It's much easier to see the full effect of the shot when you can view it all at once and not have to pan.

Current theme, chosen by Week #6 winner Cale:
Landscapes
Good luck, everyone!

Wow what a poor theme choice. I have no idea what to enter.

Would you have preferred something non-automotive instead?

Ditto. Think this might be one for plundering shots of the past few months. I'm without transport at the mo so getting to anywhere picturesque is a problem!

Unless I can get something nice from the countryside near me I'm going for a different type of landscape:

Landscapes? I'm surrounded by Skylines. Guess I'll have drive out of town looking for cows. Do seascapes count? Cale - a few more clues as to what we can shoot? Anything on land? Any particular time; night shots, sunset?
Thanks.

I went with a 'cityscape' Photonrider, it's a landscape I would have thought as its still an area of land. Guess we'll have to get Cale to confirm though!

I was also thinking about asking if "cityscapes" would be acceptable.

Funny how everybody's been to NY on July. :D

Hi, Solo - yes, I would think cityscapes definitely fall into the landscape category - but what about large tracts of water? As for skylines and horizons being okay - I would think so, though as for Skylines.. . . - guess that's where the automotive theme comes in!

Well, Cale won the right to dictate the theme, so we'll leave it to him. :)

Hmm. Still not sure. Will decide on a final entry later. In the meantime:

Wednesday.

Got to remember that now.

Still not shot anything worthwhile. Everywhere I look it's just trees, grass, mountains, lakes . . . all getting in my way.

Will this fit the theme?

Screw you all and your beautiful places.

Hear, hear!
I'm seconding that. ;)

This was taken a few weeks ago while taking a morning run with my son. My camera auto-sets the date to 2004 every time it runs out of batteries - so you'll have to take my word on that one, if you've dug deep enough to look at the date. Easy to prove, though, because I can take a shot of GTP right now and the date would show 2004.
