getting your own subaru imprezza, would probably match up best. with a few hp mods to get it equal or better than the other imprezza should allow you to win the race. suspension mods and brakes are two things i wouldnt worry about, as long as you dont greatly change the car, you should be okay to leave every thing else stock.

Racing Exhaust
Port&Polish
Engine Balancing

That is pretty much what you'll need.
good luck man,

a key for rallying if not using manual is to have the gears set just right. for tracks like grand canyone the gear ratios need to be tight together. Ralying is more about control than power. cant win a race if you come off every ten seconds.

agreed, but hes going against (im assuming) a wrx sti, you need a little power to get passed that one! especially on the tarmac sections of the course. i dont care how well ur car handles or how great a driver you are, if u got a suzuki 360 and ur goin' against a suzuki escudo (two random cars, they just were on the top of my head) ur car ain't gonna compare to the escudo. i sugest u get something that initially has the required grunt as well as a good power to weight ratio. might a suggest a Toyota Celica SS-II with some power mods and maybe in this case suspension and brakes (on this car it'll be worth it) im not sure if u can equip dirt tires, check to make sure first but if u can, this car has one of the best power to weight ratios in the game. because it is a japanese ff car, with name sake cars competing in rallying events in the game, im sure it'll be able to be equiped with dirt tires.
sorry if this was poorly typed, things were just comin' to my head, good luck man

I used the Mine's Skyline R34 '00 - by default its a great car for drift which makes it awesome in dirt races (and it's not terribly expensive). All you have to do is lighten it up all the way and you're good to go.

Word of warning though, do not put any turbo on it. What makes this car great it that it has a lot of low end power for the tight parts of that track, and a turbo will basically make the low end on this car useless.

mines skyline, i gotta try that, ive never seen any cars from tuner village become rally cars, lol, but sounds good. its completty stock besides weight?

Use a car from the 80's eg. Lancia Delta S4. Try different rallies till you get it. The cars from the 80's avsolutely pwn the newer cars. :D

Like most problems in GT4, you can solve this one by spending a lot of credits.

For 1,250,000 of them you can buy the best rally car in the game, the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Super Rally Car. Put the Increase Rigidity option on it, buy the Stage 3 turbo, snow tires, and dirt tires.

Set the final drive to 5.500. Set the Autoset at 1. Turn the TCS up to 10. Turn both ASM settings to zero. Set the Brake Balance at 2/4.

The Super Evo is the Minolta Toyota of rally cars. Its even better than the two best Imprezas.

well, i already had a uber skyline r34 mspec NUR in the garage so i slapped some dirts on this big black beast and won the escudo in one try, it was actually kinda unfair to the ai. i've always found the skyline to be an amazing rally car for all gt games... despite how bad it looks to rip on this car in the dirt.

thats sounds like something outta the ordinary, and i do stuff like that. i have rallied with me 111r, thats wierd, lol. jmillheiser, if u got settings for the gtr as a rally car, post it, i wanna try that =)
