slow, too.

That's a little harsh - the Coupe has some good angles, and is a lot better than the previous model. The angle you picked out is a bad one - I'm sure if you sniffed around you could find a bad angle on a 355.

The V6 model shouldn't be too slow.

Ok, maybe. But I did not snoop around. First Pic I saw.

Hyundai Coupe hits UK
Prices announced - it's cheap, but slow

The new Hyundai coupe will be hitting the streets of the UK shortly and although it's not to everyone's tastes it's got to be the best looking car from Hyundai that we've seen.

It will no doubt be a hit with style concious car buyers but the low prices hint at the poor performance of the car. The 1.6 S is available from £14,499; the 2.0 SE at £16,499 and the flagship 2.7 V6 at £18,499.

You'll be drawing a pension by the time the car reaches 60

The 1.6 S can only haul the car to a top speed of 115 mph and you'll need a haircut before it reaches 62mph a lengthy 11.6 seconds after setting off.

The 2.0 SE is a little better with its 136 bhp taking your to a top speed of 128 mph. It reaches 62 mph in a tardy 9.2 seconds. The 2.7 V6 engine makes its first appearance in the Coupe but only manages a paltry 165 bhp giving a top speed of 136mph. 62mph can be reached in 8.2 seconds.

The 2.0 will be offered with the Porsche-designed semi-automatic H-tronic gearbox for the first time, while the 2.7 V6 will be available with either H-tronic or six-speed manual gearbox.

It's a shame the car hasn't been better endowed or perhaps we're just the wrong people to talk to about economy and value for money...

Is that a Lexus badge on the front of that thing?

- sorry, that was before I read the story. That's not a bad looking buggy!

Oh, I was never going to buy one, I'm addicted to four paw drive and the sound of boxer fours...

I've seen a couple of shots from other angles and it's quite pretty from some points, although Hyundai's usual inability to get detail points right affects it.

Nothing an aftermarket turbo and suspension kit can't fix.

That yellow Porsche looks hideous. Anybody over the age of 20 should attest to that.

I remember seeing those pictures being posted at supraforums.com a long ass time ago, and a lot of the members there said that it was one of the many cars the founder (or the founder's son, I can't remember). of RUF owned. Not sure if it's true though.

But remember the f1 cars of the 70's? Huge front and rear wings.

The Porsche 935 Whaletail had a pretty big wing.

I'm not a big fan of the original RUF wing that's on there, much less any additional "help", lol. I sure hope that's not the sons car, if so I'm afraid of what might happen with RUF in the future  :P

what about the top fuel dragsters? they have some big ass wings. i think that old rally picture is the equiviliant of what the top fuel's spoiler is like.

as far as the tiburon goes, i like them. i like the styling even though the car was just put together by pictures of other cars. :)
