Ok, is even possible to blow a engine on GT4 or even GT3. I have heard a friend at school say something about they have blown one before, but he sometimes dosen't tell the truth about thing. Can you?

You can lose horsepower through redlining however. I was devastated when this happened to my EG6. Its supposed to be 221, but its more like 211 and in that range.

as far as i have heard a 'blown' engine could mean it is enlarged from it's original specs i.e stock-2.6 litre engine enlarged-2.9 litres

I don't think they use that term for an increased displacement engine. Usually if the piston stroke has been increased the engine is referred to as 'stroked'. If the diameter of the cylinders has been increased the engine is referred to as 'bored', or 'bored out'

The skyline RB26DETT (the 2.6L engine you refer to) can be stroked out to 2.8 or 3.0 litres. This increases torque and power, but results in a lower redline (I believe the 2.8L has only an 8,000rpm redline as opposed to 9,000 or so for the standard 2.6L)

The only time you could refer to a working engine as 'blown' is if you've added forced induction (turbo or supercharger). So I would have to say in GT you can 'blow' an engine, but not blow it up!

Actually that's usually referred to as "Bored Out" ;)
"Blown" in reference to engine modification usually refers to fitting a Supercharger or "Blower" as in the famous "Le Mans Blower Bentleys" from the late 1920s and 1930s.

Your friend was most likely referring to the phenomenon (that some members have mentioned) where your car will lose some of its horsepower and never get it back. This supposedly happens from over-revving, but I've only noticed the effect on really old cars that are used often (like, for example, the Ruf RGT that I bought fairly early in my GT3 game, tuned to its full potential, and then raced for pretty much every championship that would accept it).

On that point how much power can you lose till it stops?

3-5% of the original power output (depending on whether it's a bought car or a won car).

All cars lose 5% from peak power to minimum power. Cars which are won come with slightly more power than a bought alternative - but have the same maximum and minimum.
