Watching Patton on blu-ray I've noticed a few things I dont remember seeing before:
During the opening speech, towards the very end, George C. Scott is sweating heavily. Just as he turns to walk away a huge bead of sweat launches off his face and splatters on his shoulder.
As Patton enters the village where he is taking command of his army for the first time, his speeding vehicle scatters a group of chickens. All except for one chicken- who gets uncerimoniously run over.
The scene where the donkey cart on a bridge holds up a column of vehicles, allowing them to be straffed by the Germans. I noticed that just before the bridge scene (and in reaction to some explosions) you can clearly see the donkey's on the bridge in the distant backround making a 180 degree turn all on their own, dragging the cart behind them, to escape the bridge. So they must have had to chase them down and drag their asses (pun) back to the bridge so they could block it again.
Nice to notice new things in a movie you really like.
