Heres the story:

I got given an old pc a while ago, so i bought a new case, motherboard, CPU, GPU and optical drive for it.

The only thing I kept from the old PC was the hard drive,( I put a new OS on it, windows 7 32 bit, and i put it on when it was in the old PC. It had windows server 2003 on it originally.).

So I built the basically new system, apart from the HDD, today. I go and press the start button, all fans spin, HDD LED lights up, fan LED lights up, all seems fine.
It tries to start windows 7, the little dots of light on screen begin to swirl as they begin to form the Windows sign, but then the lights freeze just as they start moving, and I get a flash (about a second) of the blue screen of death. I'm told that window files may be corrupted or something. Then it gives me two options:
1. Startup repair to see if it can find the problem,
2. Start windows normally. If I choose to do this, it repeats the above and sends me back to the two options.

Startup repair can't find the solution to the problem.

Bit annoying I guess, but I was wondering, seeing as I didnt wipe the old harddrive after it had been in the old computer, could it be the bios from the old motherboard and the bios of the new motherboard 'mixing up'( couldn't find a better word :P )

In that case should I buy a new HDD?
By the way, I can get into the bios and all seems fine in there. CPU is detected etc.
Thanks, any help is appreciated.

Insert the disc and boot from it. Search on Google and you will find a lot of step-by-step tutorials on how to do it.
