Thanks to RICARDO because his Golden Oldie Report kind of inspired me to do this :)

Also, check out my Race Report Collection Thread which has all my best Race Reports in it.

It's 10pm at night, I'm watching the Formula One race highlights when the phone rings.

??? - Hello, is this Ben?

Me - Yes, who is this?

??? - You don't need to know right now, our Test Driver is currently in hospital, I've heard about you and was wondering if you'd come to out secret location to test out our new car.

Me - What's the car?

??? - You'll see tomorrow.

Me - Tomorrow?!

??? - Yes, if you accept, you'll be picked up at 8AM to be taken to the airport.

Me - Airport? Where is this secret location?

??? - Hidden away in the Forests of Germany, we call it Deep Forest Raceway. So do you accept?

Me - Ok, I accept.

My alarm clock wakes me up at 6:30AM, I haven't even packed yet. I'm exited about the trip, but I'm also scared. I'm being taken to the middle of a Forest in Germany, anything could happen.

Bang on 8AM, two men in black suits are at my door, I giggle to myself when I see a Mercedes AMG55 outside.

- Are you Ben Jones?

- Yes.

- Come with us. Get in the car.

I fall asleep on the plane, despite the fact it was a luxury private jet, I was shattered after only around six hours sleep.

I was woken up in a Forest, a small airsprip had been built specially for the race track.

I walk out the plane and I'm greeted by a fat man in a cream coloured suit.

- Hello, you must be Ben.

- Yep, Guten Tag!

I couldn't help but speak a little German to this guy.

- I'm Wolfgang, I spoken to you on the phone.

He seemed happier than he did one the phone.

- Ok.

- I suppose you want to know what your driving?

- Have been since you phoned. I said.

A pit lane garage opened to reveal what looked like a normal BMW 330i.

- I expect you think your driving a normal 330i don't you?

- Yep.

- Your wrong, this one has a Turbo, a Sports Exhaust and has been lightend to the max. It now has over 360 Bhp. We call it the BMW 330i Sports Package and we need you to test it for us on the track.

- Well, thats why I'm here! When do I start?

- Now, I reccomend you drive a few laps staying under 100 k/ph, we want you to get used to the track before you start going quickly.

- Ok, so, how long am I testing for?

- All day, if all goes well this car could be put on sale.

- Ok, I'll get to work.

The car was very diffrent inside, the seats were what felt like plastic, and there was no usual comforts like a CD Player or Heating.

So I rolled around the track staying at 60 Mph, it seemed to slow for a car with over 360 Bhp.

I did three laps at 60 Mph, I knew the track, now I needed to learn the corner speeds. I went wide sevral times on the first lap before driving back into the pit lane. Wolfgang didn't look impressed.

- Get a grip boy! If you don't our car will be ruined in another three laps.

- Sorry, I need to learn the corner speeds a bit more.

So I go out for another 8 laps at average speeds, I then pulled back into the pits.

- Getting better! Think you could go for a timed lap yet?

- Ok, but no promises I won't crash.

I drive back into the pits after a timed lap, I had gone wide on the long left before the back straight, luckily, Wolfgang and the pit crew were way, way out of sight from that place.

- 1'29.506 he shouted through the car window, but try not to go wide next time.

I stepped out of the car.

- How do you know? I asked.

He moved slightly to his right to reveal what looked like a dozen small TV screens stationed in front of three men in black polo shirts.

- So, time for another few laps, he said to me suddenly.

I climed back into the car.

The BMW 330 'Sports Package' felt diffrent compared to the stock one , it felt slightly like a BMW M3, when I wondered why they were thinking about putting this car on sale when they already had at least two diffrent M3's with around 360 Bhp.

Something made me think the Sports Exhaust was there for noise, the 330i SP sounded very good with the new exhaust, better than an M3.

Back into the pits again, 1'28.753 he shouted at me. At least I was improoving.

- Good lap, you didn't go onto the grass at all, but some corners could be taken faster. Try and aim for a 1'27 lap.

- I'll try, no promises though.

- Good, you don't need to come into the pits every lap anymore, the timer on the Start/Finish line will tell you your lap time.

- Ok, thanks.

Wolfgang given me the thumbs up to go.

I was driving down the back straight when Wolfgang caleed me via the radio.

- You can attack the last corner much harder, just enter it on the outside and tap the brakes.

- Ok, thanks again WG.

- WG?

- Don't worry, thanks.

So I did, Wolfgang's tip made my lap times faster by the tenths, my Personal Best was now 1'28.258.

Wolfgang called me into the pits via the radio just after I'd finished my ninth lap.

- Your doing well, although you've been on the track and in the pits for nearly six hours.

- Six hours? Already? I said.

- Yes, time does fly when your having fun dosen't it? You'll have enough time for another few laps, Wolfgang told me.

- Ok, just call me in when you want to call it a day.

So, I went out for my final few laps, still trying to get the 1'07 target Wolfgang had given me.

I attacked the track as hard as I could, accelrating out of every corner as early as I could, braking as late as I could. I could almost hear the car whining as I slammed on the brakes for the first turn.

Then, Wolfgang contacted me on the radio.

- This will have to be your last lap, Ben.

- Ok, I'll make it a good one.

So I pushed it like I did on the previous few laps, and managed what the timer said was a 1'07.451.

I smiled to myself as I drove into the pits for the last time. I pulled up beside Wolfgang.

- Great last laps, your second to last one was brilliant!

- But my last one was fastest...

- No, your second to last one was a 1'07.372.

- Really, I mustn't have noticed, I though my last one was best.

- No, you mustn't hav., Anyway theres a building behind the pits with a few rooms in there for visitors, go in there and take your pick, no one else is staying here at the moment.

- How about you?

- I live here. He laughed. Be ready for 10AM tomorrow, you'll be flown back to England

Then he opened a pit garage to reveal a BMW M5, he got in and drove away, no other words.

So I walked through the Pit Garage to find a quite new looking building, the door was unlocked and no one was inside. I walked up the stairs to find a corridoor with dorrs leading off. I took the first door and got ready for bed. It had been a tiring day and I needed an early night for the flight tomorrow.

You said "shaving tenths" and aiming for 1'28 & 1'27 laps, then suddenly you've lost 20s and pull 1'08s? I can only get 1'11s in a Ford GT40 race car, nevermind a BMW 330i, no matter how much of a diet it's been on! Suggest you check your times, or the report for typos!
Otherwise it's not a bad little story. 👍 Any pics to come? 💡

Why does everyone in the race reports thread always gets a phone call:lol:

But anyway nice report:tup:
