BMW extended its M6 range with the introduction of a new cabriolet version in 2006.It featured the same BMW E63/E64 6-Series platform as the coupe model and was fitted with the same 5.0L V10 S85 engine delivering 507 hp. M6 Cabrio's front bumper was built out of lightweight components in order to keep car's centre of gravity as low as possible (therefore improved weight distribution and creating better handling). Despite lacking the roof top, the M6 Cabrio accelerated from 0 to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds (0.2 sec slower than the coupe). The aerodynamic mirrors and the new side sills were only a few features differing the M6 from BMW's 6 Series (in terms of exterior design).

The 5.0-liter V10 BMW M6 droptop packs 500-hp and it also has the convenient seven-speed sequential manual gearbox also known as SMG. The M6 has a prompt throttle response and redlines at 8250-rpm. The M6 cabrio version will sport a three layer softtop that opens in 25 secs. It also includes so much technology under the hood I would be making up terms if I tried to describe it, but it all equals ungodly speeds. It goes from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds and it tops at 155 which can be tweaked but the ABS breaks should save you. Without controls the vehicle is said to reach 205-206 mph. The vehicle is more than just a car, it's a monster that is driven by very few people.
