So... I'm tired of not having enough fun enduro races. I'm upset that I can only set the arcade to 50 laps but this will do for now...

The AI is set to +10 fast. This is a 157 A-spec point race.

I have picked the Mclaren because it is a very nice car. It handles well and is very fast.

The field is a merc amg clk gtr, a panoz gtr, a toyota 7, a gillete vertigo and a nissan r390 all on R3 tires.

The race starts well. Without TCS the car spins its tires in first and second so I take it easy and fall back a little bit but catch up coming out of turn one. most cars are past during the first half of the lap and then the leading merc clk gtr race car falls coming out of the last corner. I seem to have a bit more speed in this turn then anyone else.

Behind me the merc and the toyota 7 trade the lead constantly while I pull out a lead. I pull out a large lead of well over 20 seconds by lap 14 when I loose traction coming out of the S curve. I decide to pit on this lap with a 22 second lead. I take R2 tires front and R3 rear. No fuel. I come out of this pits in 4th place with over 12 seconds to make up. The car handles well with this set up so it shouldnt be to hard. Lap times seem to have only dropped 1 second over the R3 front tires and I should be able to run another lap or two with this set up.

I pass the panoz but just before the last turn but I'm still in 4th. the merc pits on this lap so I take one more position back.

I catch up to the nissan R390 at the end of lap 16 but he ducks into the pits rather then battle the mighty Mclaren. I move up to 2nd place 10.5 behind the toyota 7. I catch the vertigo coming into turn one and pass him on exit. I am 10 seconds behind the toyota 7.

I am eating away chunks of time away on the toyota 7. By the end of lap 20 The gap is down to 6.6. I run wide in the S curve again but the gap is rapidly shrinking. He finaly pits at the end of lap 22 and I regain the lead. To bad I will need to pit again soon... The lead I open up over the toyota 7 seems to be enough to pit without being passed though... The virtigo and the panoz pit at the end of lap 25.

My rear tires are red at the end of lap 31 and I lose traction going into the first highbanked corner and slide the rear on exit. I take it easy on the big banked last turn and duck in to the pits for new rubber and a little more fuel. I hope to make this my last stop. I have a 42.0 second lead on the toyota 7 before the stop. The merc race car pitted just before me and he pulls out right in front of me as I pull into my pit. We have a slight tap but things go on as they were. I take new R2 tires front and R3 tires rear. fuel is filled to 51/80. I exit the pits in front of the toyota 7 by 5.222 seconds. I take it easy on the tires and they dont warm up until the end of lap 34. I lap the R390 again in the last turn at the end of lap 36. I catch the merc race car in the last turn on lap 39. for a split second I think we are going to crash as I'm coming up on him at a much higher speed then he is going when he slides down into my line. I move to the top and pass him at nearly 190mph. The toyota 7 pits at the end of lap 43 which means all I have to do now is make it to the end of the race...

Lap 46 I start to wonder if I can make it to the end on these tires... it may be a close one... Fuel is also running close to empty...

Lap 50 rolls around and both left side tires are red. Fuel is low. Grip is low. The tail is sliding around pretty bad and I can not take the turns at full speed.

I still manage to bring the car home in first place 1.01.938 in front of the 2nd place toyota 7. Total race distance is 124 miles. Top speed was 206mph. Best lap was 1.00.171.

Race results:

1st FINA Mclaren F1 GTR race car.
2nd Toyota 7 race car.
3rd AMG Merc CLK-GTR race car.
4th Panoz Esperante GTR-1 race car.
5th Nissan R390 GT1 race car.
6th Gillet Vertigo race car.

Post race comments:

This is a very good, solid, fast race car. It is a blast to drive. This track is also very very fun to drive on. I love the amount of time at full speed. From exiting the first high banked turn all the way through the 2nd high banked turn and down the straight. The sound of the engine at 200+ miles per hour is just great. It gives a wonderfull feeling to the heart.

This race was not overly difficult although the time spent trying to catch the toyota 7 was rather interesting. This was a very funn race that I would recomend to other people.

The FINA is a very capable all-conditions racer .
Two things spring to . . .
If you wanted to really Enduro , the HSR is under the minute and you should over X 50 the overs , but thats quibbling .
Two , R2 fronts and R3 rears , think the mclaren is an oversteer monster or something ? . The rears are going to get rubbed in the banking , not a whole load of braking . Just MO .
Iwould actually reverse that and stay out longer , but yeh even +10s are'nt that shiny are they ? The Seven ? Loads of PWR , but i seem to recall the AI liked scuffling into the grass at the outsweep of the 1st banked run .
Anyway , to do 50 laps and post whore NewYears Eve deserves a Cookie :

Happy New Year Bro !

I chose to use R2 front tires and R3 rears because the fronts were wearing out faster then I liked but the rears had decent life. they wore more evenly this way.

How long did it take to type this,
I could have done the enduro in that much time(just kidding)this is very entertaining, I've always done enduro's but never really thought much about it, to read it in someone elses perspective is refreshing ,it's also nice to know someone else has trouble maintaining tires, although I feel I've Improved my line to a point that I spare my tires, averaging a maximum of maybe 25 laps on R3(depending on track, car, setup and opponent cars:))as you said it's only 50 laps thats really not that much, all things considered:indiff: (24hour enduro races in Endurance Events). If you really want to test your self turn on speed limiter or time limit adding hole new difficulties to you experience.👍

Happy New year!

I started writing this at about 11:10pm and finished when I posted it.

I enjoy these shorter endurance races. I think I will do more arcade endurance races. I only wish I could set it to maybe 100 or more for the shorter tracks.

With no asm or tcs and most of the corners being right turns yeah the front left is going to take a beating. The left rear also took a beating but it wasnt as bad.

Nice write up, next time you could try a 200 points race. But the report itself is nice, you describe the race in details but not too much to get boring.
