BOb: manual v. automatic?

Does it make a difference in b-spec? Really with a manual Bob seemed to do worse, by which I mean he let the gears hit rev limiter for several seconds before shifting sometimes, losing time on straightaways and whatnot. Is it better to give him auto? And does that also go for assists? Do they perform better with/without assists? I dunno I don't think anything can help the little guy...

What cars won't let you use manual beside electric cars?
Bob will always use manual. He doesn't use assists.
