OK. Can I just say the physics on this thing are utterly unreal.

If I braked in this thing in real life, it would not attempt to get on two wheels and roll onto its side.

And if it did end up on two wheels in real life at such an angle which it does here, it would not get back on four. It would tip over onto its side, leaving you in quite a dilemma.

I put some money into it because i didn't wanna go the whole way around the track at 60mph. What the hell is with all these pos VW :grumpy:

^how did you do that endo/stoppie lmao

I don't normally tune cars, but I couldn't find settings for it on here so I made my own. These settings make the drive somewhat enjoyable.

Buy everything plus a mid-range turbo... I didn't really care about making this one difficult. It's a frickin' Schwimmwagen for crying out loud...

Tranny : 99mph - you'll be doing 95 pretty much the whole time minus corners
Torque Split : 35 / 65
Ride Height : -20 (front and back)
Springs : 5 / 6
Camber : 2.0 / 1.5
Toe : -0.1 / 0.2
Brake Balance : 1 / 3 (Still have to be light on the brakes)

You should be in 1st coming out of the loop on lap 2. :dopey:
Personal best lap time is 1:56.6

If there's anyone having problems with this race, try slapping on adjustable suspension and give it maximum camber, and slam it to the ground (lower it as much as possible). Not only will it then handle like it's on rails (as long as you don't brake or hit the kerb), it'll also look hillarious. :)

Edit: or you could of course try the setup above.

My thoughts exactly. I bought it, went in the race stock and realized I was losing time so I just went in the tuning shop and modded it up to all. I created an 118 hp beast. Sure it was cake but I knew I'd have more fun making this thing oversteer at every possible moment than to try and give myself a challenge. I don't even think I made back the money I put into it and I don't even mind. 👍

Could anyone lent me the schwimmwagen for 30min? trying to save up some cash - thanks! ;)

Edit: like become friends and set the car "online".

This car is great fun. I gave mine a fair amount of pep...and it was fantastic trying to stop it tipping over if I turned sharply at too high a speed lol.

The first time I tried the race, I took the first corner like I would in most cars, and it was on its side.

The car's a death trap!...and I want one.

anybody fancy giving me a swimwagon, would be a great help.
i dont really fancy spending 625,000 on a car that i did get for free and got rid of because its a stupid car that has no place in a racing game.
already got a queue of 2 people to pass it on to, so would be sharing the love.

(i can return any favours next week when ive hit my 10,000,000 trophy)

its ok ive been given one now and passed it on.

This tune did it for me. Only problem for me is, it still slides when it brakes. Still...better than a massive 'wheelie', isn't it?

Much respect for all of you who have been looking for a competitive tune for this. After two runs of trying with a few upgrades I just bought everything for this car, just to get this event over with :dopey:

Honestly, what's the point of an event that is impossible to win with a stock car? It ceases to be a test of skill and is brought down to how much money you are prepared to spend on the car.

I tried it stock and ended up 11th and was lapped by everything down to 9th place.

Just out of interest what's the highest place anyone has managed with a totally standard car?

I like the ones you can win with a stock car more too. It might be nice to give an advice bhp/weight/tyre choice for the events so we have to do less trial and error to find the right combination on the events that need tuning.

Yes, it is fun to drive but when we have to put a racing gearbox and an ECU (?!?) into a car like this we move away from a "Real Driving Simulator" and into the realms of fantasy.

I also ran it for the first time yesterday in a stock Schwimmwagen. I also finished 11th, over 17 minutes total time and was over 6 minutes behind the leader. I'm pretty sure no one would be able to do any better than 11th stock.

It's pretty funny to watch all those crappy little cars lap you!

It took me awhile but once i found the right setting i dominated..

That Bathtub on wheels is actually quite a fun little Vehicle to drive.

What an absolutely shocking race to put in the game. Whoever made it should be shot! They must be laughing at us?!

Who in their right mind wants to go roudn a track flat out, no braking for ages? That's after spending bucks on the piece of **** to be able to win the race! Madness!
