Bonus Race 5 - Cape Ring South - TVR Tuscan Speed 6

I thought that giant digital panel displayed the speed on the first lap.

At first I was amazed that PD modeled the TVR's odd quirks and electrical problems.

Then I realized I was an idiot, that digital readout displayed my rpms.:dunce:

I needed to mod mine up a bit. I think I bumped the tires to Sports Soft and did a few minimal engine mods to up the HP a little (ECU, Race Filter, Cat converter). It took me a few tries with that setup and was able to pass the R8 on the last corner. Was the best challenge I've had for awhile.

I didn't get on with this car totally stock, I didn't really get on it slightly (400hp) modded! I found it a bit understeer/snap oversteerish but maybe my right foot was in need of feathering the throttle a bit. I used to love it in prologue but it does seem quite the same anymore.

Not sure how I feel about the looks and I really have trouble controlling it but was getting better. However I will say they might have some of the best paint chips. The Reflex Spice is the best color since that Rasberry on the MiEV.

I really don't get why people have a problem with how this car looks, I always thought it was an awesome looking car, the Tuscan R and S also, and yeah you need to see one up close to appreciate it perhaps (i've seen several including in reflex purple and reflex spice paintwork)

The interior also looks awesome (think Spyker, though admittedly not quite as OTT) and all the models, as with many TVRs, offered awesome performance and major bang for your buck (late model Tuscans were good for up to 200mph)

The Sagaris was also a superb looking and performing car, too bad it's not in GT5. TVRs were flawed diamonds, sure i'm a Brit but i'm not especially pro-Brit cars, however I miss TVR a lot =(

Oh **** I bought the Tuscan and spent 175000 race moding it and then found out I couldn't use it.

ha I did the same thing with the Elise 111R. I saw it was a seasonal event and though "that's a good excuse to buy and RM one of the handful of cars in the game that you can RM..."

ended up buying another 111R to do the event... crap

Real life TVR also don't have ABS....at least for a long time they didn't....;)

For added challenge, you know...

I think 1:26 is doable, though the fastest lap in my first try was 1:28, ended up 4th...

Fun car! Fun event! Needed three attempts to win, with absolutely no tuning at all. Not even tires. Picked a strange colour though, something blueish...

I like this car. Responds well to all inputs. Doesn't snap oversteer like so many other cars. Turns in nicely. I believe 1st is doable with oil change and nothing else. Biggest problem is AI getting in the way all the time.

I'm really enjoying driving this car, too. I'm not a great driver (and am using controller), but I managed to get a close second with Sports Soft tyres, an oil change, ECM upgrade and an air-filter. Adding aeros would probably help speed on corners, but they ruin the smooth lines, so I resisted!

I admit, I was using RS tires, probably that's where 26+ came from, stock no oil change
Anyway, I'm still waiting for my speed 12

Sports Hard, Exhaust and Air Filter only.

Had ABS 1 on this... Could not make it into T1, 3, well... most of them actually, with it off. :scared:
Not without buying FC suspension and tuning it.

Drove it stock and saw a hidden potential. Tuned it with everything and it became a beast. Eats corners like few cars I have. Without the challenge, I would have never bought it. The challenge was good,at all.

Did it first try without purchasing anything but race suspension and lsd, makes hell of a difference with the right setup. The car takes corners beautifully, I would marry a tvr -_-

Really fun to drive and actually perfect track for it, though I was initially disappointed cause they picked the Cape Ring for 2 challenges this week.

But to all the guys who think the Tuscan is beautiful, I dunno what to say. The basic shape and silouette is nice but the headlights and the grill are the most disgusting thing I saw in transportation design this side of a Fiat Multipla or Nissan Juke. And the Serena Williams-lookalike butt with those tiny whiny rear lights almost scratching the pavement is just... wrong.

Ended winning it with Sports Medium and a LSD. Can probably do without the LSD but it makes driving without ABS a bit less taxing....I like the car and how it handle stocks though. Compare to the Alfa in another one this week it can put down power with confidence and handling is predictable....Nice to drift too...:D

Actually won by 0.043 sec passing the R8 at the line...

LOL Well put...

It's just as beautiful as a Zonda IMO. Very little "pure beauty", but it looks just as good and awesome.

But it may be the FR light weight, roaring personality tricking my subconscient mind to "think" it does look so. 👍

Won it stock, but after 3 attempts, needed race tyres to do it. Still getting used to a wheel, reckon it's costing me 5 sec a lap :(

Needed a tire upgrade for this, thought it was the most challenging of all the new bonus races this time.

Also, is it just me, or does TVR have some of the ugliest paint colors in the game?

Added a front lip rear diffuser and a wing, dropped the sucker all the way and added a nice set of rims. That took care of the ugly duckling syndrome this car was suffering from. With some miner performance mods bringing HP to about 440 or so with a curb weight of 1100kg it drives great and looks the part.

If you can do this one completely stock with SH, you're really good.

After 4 attempts always coming in 2nd by 2-5 seconds, I gave up and bought SM's. Just didn't know where to find that extra 0,5-1 sec I was needing as I was pushing pretty hard. Almost too easy then, because the tires give you approx. 3 sec/lap.

Would anyone like to loan me their TVR? I bought one and did the race mod and now the game won't let me use it in the race.

I not only won the event (with sport softs only) but on my 3rd attempt I got the rollover trophy after bouncing through the grass and hitting the outside wall in turn 3 lol
