Is there a way to setup a car to match whatever BOP does to it so you can practice in world circuits without going to Sport? I figured the default car set would be it, but that doesn't come out the same hp/weight.

You can’t do it in time trials unfortunately but you can do it for custom races.

The problem is that you don’t know if the specified tuning will be different. So it could be slightly different….also weather plays a factor.

You can get close…but it’s not always perfect

Free practice or qualifying with no entry is the only way to do it with 100% match

Thanks Dumfries. I wish they would do away with that bop crap, or just use it for hp and weight, most of the cars in this game are terrible on stock settings.

I’m neither here nor there on it.

At times I like BoP. Sure it needs refining but the principle of making things as fair as possible still is a good one…but then again I have some cars that are finely tuned

Would love to see them maybe add a 4th daily race….where it’s Gr1-4 but everything is opened up and we can run them at like 700+ HP no ballasts

I don't mind the hp/weight thing, but not being able to set gearing, suspension, or downforce just sucks. I don't like running the race cars with added power adders or anything like that, just want to make the car more driveable.

I personally think the biggest road block for this is the transmission.

Like if they only allowed us to tune the suspension and diff…that would go a long way…..but if you allow transmission tuning….well, if you know how to properly set it up, it quickly will become race breaking.

Fixing the suspension/diff might gain you a second over current BoP….but the transmission could be 3+ seconds a lap easy just by gearing it right with the right car

If someone can't figure out gearing, they sure as hell can't tune suspension, lol. I think I just keep expecting more from this game, it's easy to think of it as a sim, but it just isn't. Not to say I don't love the game, I've played every gt game since they came out (yes, I'm that old!) lol. My main problem with bop is it turns most races into a 1 make race, there is almost always a dominant car.

Yeah I get what you’re saying

I was just looking at this weeks nations cup race. Despite being BoP Gr4…..probably 85% of the top times are WRXs

Every track it’s different but there is always a car that takes the top. In some ways that’s the allure of the manufacturers cup. Get locked into 1 brand and have numerous races on many tracks with it.

I picked Hyundai because I have a Hyundai suv irl…so far that’s made for a fun challenge and more rewarding when you outperform the cars that should be better on that track

You can recreate a tuning page to be identical to BoP.

Choose your car and create 3 new default tuning pages and name them however you want, like BoP(H) / BoP(M) / BoP(L).
Then create a custom race go to these 3 tracks (these were daily races when BoP was split into 3) for the different BoP settings and adjust ECU down and weight up depending on the setup
Monza (any version) for Highspeed
Sainte-Croix Layout B for Medspeed
Willow Springs Street cours for Lowspeed
(for some cars, 2 of the settings are identical).

The car information in the center-top position is your currently selected car and its values (remember to have a default tuning page selected to compare for the changes)

The car information on the lower-right position is your current car with BoP adjustments

in this case it is ECU -7kw and ballast +39kg

Unfortunatly, you wont see which kind of BoP is enabled in the racing information (unlike in sport mode), but you can see it when you navigate to car settings

Thanks, I will give that a try.
