Bored of GT7? Three New Custom Races Every Weekday

Taycan turbo was a handful to drive during the daily race.
Yeah it’s a bit unwieldy, quite a bit of understeer, but lots of power. With a lot of sharp turns I don’t think it’d feel very good to drive. I tried to go for a track where it’d lean into the attributes of the car, here, it being an EV, while also being a track that hadn’t been picked too recently for the daily races.

The events for the 13th of November are up!

Today’s events:
  • Lancia’s legends at Autodrome Lago Maggiore
  • A 625 PP Super Sports car race at Kyoto Driving Park - Yamagiwa
  • 35 laps of Watkins Glen in the Tomahawk X. You will be tested. One slight error and you’ll be facing the other direction. Find consistency in the chaos.

I have a question.

It's as much aimed at the community as it is at OP.

I've had to restrict my Power to meet the PP requirements for the race. Now I have to do the 96% default Custom Race standard for this series, will I calculate 96 percent of whatever my Restrictor is set at?

I hope that makes sense.
Obviously I'm only using the Power Restrictor, not ECU.

I didn’t consider that possibility. If you are already restricting your power then I would drop it by a further 4%, as the AI effectively drops below the PP limit when they go to 97% throttle.

So if you’re already at 96% to meet the limit then I’d drop it to either 94% or 92%. The scaling may mean that 4% below 96% is more of a relative BHP drop compared to 4% below 100% but that’s just a guess.

If you find 4% below your current reduced percentage is too slow then maybe give 2% below the current percentage a try.

There won't be any races today, my apologies. I'm just... not feeling up to it today. One of those days, if you get me. Will have races up tomorrow and I'll try and plan out the week ahead over the weekend.

I think I woke up too late last Friday and again had that bleh feeling. It’s not that I don’t like doing it, but I’m not helping myself with having to come up events sometimes not long after I wake up (and if it’s beyond the scheduled time then it’s even worse).

Next week’s events are all planned out. Only thing to add is the weather settings. No more missing days, staying on top of it fully now.

Sorry for getting the races up late today. Slept late, again. I'm starting to run out of ideas for races haha. Took me a while last night to come up with some for next Tuesday - trying to maintain that full week of races.

Also, a quick question if it's okay - do you prefer fully detailed weather slots (e.g if there are 4 weather slots for a specific race, have them all filled with specific weather options) or for the first one to be detailed, and the rest to be random?

I do random for endurances to give them more replay value, but I don't know if maybe folks would prefer fully detailed weather for non-endurances all the time, none of the time, or some of the time.

At the moment I'm between them both - and an error of mine has been that I haven't noted down the weather options for the upcoming races, so if I'm short on time I tend to choose an option for the first slot and leave the rest random.

I'll be updating the rest of this week's non-endurance races with fully detailed weather and doing so for the races beyond the current developed schedule - unless you guys prefer the hybrid option of the first option being a specific choice and the rest for that race being random, or having it all random.

From my side I like the idea of at least doing some with fully custom weather because it lets you create a specific visual experience (or sometimes gameplay related if rain is involved) that plays out over the course of the race. I'd really appreciate the feedback!

Here are the races for the 20th of November, 2024:
  • Road cars with diffusers installed at Deep Forest
  • Relive glimmers of the past with the Ford GT Test Car Spec II at Road Atlanta, racing against a smaller grid size reminiscent of older games in the series
  • The Volkswagen Endurance Series at Dragon Trail - Seaside - 28 laps in the Volkswagen GTI Roadster VGT, with the usual endurance race variables like tyre wear and fuel consumption

Ooh I really like the idea of "choose a car with X default PP and do whatever you want to it" from today's Medium event!
Yeah I wanted to capture a GT1-4 esque vibe where you absolutely cram everything into an everyday or sports car and then go up against the fastest in the game. You can still do that in PS3 era onwards games of course, but the introduction of many more supercars I think makes it less of the usual path when it comes to road cars. Glad you like it!

The events for the 25th of November are up!

Today, we have:
  • Road cars with racing car engines at Fuji
  • The Group 2 Masters title is up for grabs at Mount Panorama
  • A classic car endurance race around Grand Valley - Highway 1

Yes! There's so many engine swaps in this game now... Let's have more reasons to use them!

No events today, my apologies. Realised just before I started updating the post that the medium race was only 2 laps and it wouldn’t work as a full one. It’s a mission that’ll be alongside the rest. I think you guys will like it. But I’m extremely tired at the moment, I’ll get them up tomorrow well in time.

The events for the 27th of November are up. I cannot meet my own deadlines if there are no consequences, I’m sorry again. Broken record I know. I’m not intentionally trying to annoy people. I have the intention to meet them but I just can only seem to get stuff out on time if there are consequences for not doing so.

Here are today’s events:
  • Four-cylinder cars at the Nürburgring Grand Prix circuit
  • A sprint race in the Formula GT championship where your back is up against the wall and you need to score a strong result to be in with a chance of a seat next season
  • Autopolis with 590 BHP maximum, stage 5 weight reduction and no PP or tyre limit. Road cars turned into track animals!
  • A mission event wherein you must complete three laps of Interlagos in the Mercedes-AMG GT Safety Car without being lapped by formula cars
