This is awkward, I don't know if people here have ever mentioned this. I know that many of you, once every while, go through car and track menus, thinking of some new challenge. GT4 is enjoyable, but once you know every track by heart, it becomes dull.

Well here's what I found interesting. Go to practice or time trial mode. Choose Nurburgring. Take something fast, better a Polyphony Formula 1. Start the race, but don't go the known way, go reverse.

If the flashing wrong way sign doesn't bother you, it still doesn't mean that you have the nerves. Nurburgring reverse, is a killing experience. Just as much of challenge as the original clockwise version. Killing experience. Suddenly gt4 has got its initial joyfulness.

Somehow, after driving for few laps, you will understand that the original is better and the reverse track doesn't make its impression. Track was built one way. But anyways, try it out. Bad thing is that you cant put official timings.

it is.. there was actually a Top gear style challenge on one forums.. drive Laguna Seca backwards, and try to hit the cars that are running right direction just as they enter the corkscrew. the further the AI's car flies, the more points..

i drove up the corkscrew before, in like gt2 or 3, it was fun because ou have no clue when to slow down, its a blind turn. But i have smacked cars into the air like this beforethey didn't fly too far, i found smacking them off the corkscrew more satisfying

Oh yeah, it's like the tight parabola (carousel) on Nurburgring track. You cannot see it and therefore have no time to prepare for it when you drive in reverse sense. In reality car would fly off the track straight in the forest.

Sounds interesting. I thought this would be yet another "drive a Dodge Ram and kill small cars" thread.

I'm personally having trouble getting bored by GT4 though :) not like other games. I mean, I'll get to the point sometimes where I'll put it aside for a few days---just cuz I like to do other things, but I always come back for more racing. :D

well thats a fun 💡 i might just try that :D good on ya for thinking that up 👍

I gave the ring backwards a try on the public holiday yesterday. took the ghost from my R92C against the F1 car, turned around and raced him to the start line. It was fun actually, but the scary thing is I've driven the ring so many times I even knew what corners were coming up driiving it backwards(most of the time anyway)

See when I was a kid I was the sort who couldn't resist sneaking around and stuff. I would have grabbed that PS2 by now, only to put it back if any parents were about.

...of course, you run the risk of punishment if you get caught. I often got caught. :guilty:

Hehe sounds intresting. I once did this with the Range Rover, on the Fuji speedway lol. I tried to crash into all the AI cars, backwards. GT4 racing did get boring after a while, so thats why I tried it.

I have done this a couple times, fun for a little while

Though after doing at least a thousand full laps of Nurburgring (forward) I will never get bored of it, to be honest I wish it was longer.

LOL, thats similar to what I do when I'm drinking and GranTurismoing and cant really cope with serious racing anymore.
Take one of the massive trucks, but without any mods activated(ie:standard) and N1 tyres, Go to a track like beginners course and then fully mod your car, give it racing tyres and begin.
You end up racing against the smallest and lightest cars, and in case you dont know it, the AI doesnt pick you up if you're going the wrong way.
Pinball is funny when you're driving a 2tn truck :)

THATS EVIL!!!!

But seriosuly i tried it, but it would definitely be better if it had real damage physics. So you could completely total all the cars and have a burnout 3 style pile up!

Yeah. that would rock.

Another thing I like to do is with two players. one takes any small car. the other takes the fastest thing possible.
Go to test course and then the guy with the fastest car reverses, and tries to line up nicely with the little car, then proceed to push it in a straight line.
We've had some absurdly funny moments doing this, getting a small 5HP car up to 300km/h backwards, then letting it go.

steal it..........i would i couldn't go a whole day with out a my ps2 , xbox or computer

no offence, but do you not have a life?

secondly, please don't double post

I surprisingly got bored of GT. Not interested in it anymore...

I, however though remember pulling out gt4 again, i played La Sarthe in Arcade, used an R8 and I was SO crappy at it.. Like in the first lap, I hit the dirt and blockade almost every turn I was so disappointed..

Now i'm simpyl too hooked to arcade racing, like Outrun 2006 and Hot Pursuit 2 (i recently bought these games so yeah..)
