Bored

Well since I finally completed Mission 34 I find myself a little bored with not much interest. I'd had this happen before and put GT4 and the PS2 away for over a year. While I do have a few dirt tracks to finish to complete the game honestly I detest them.

Might have to go do some fishing now once the weather warms just a wee bit more.

Here's some suggestions:
Do 200pt. races on 24hr enduros with stock cars.
Beat my GTR time on the 1/4.
Get 400mph on max speed.

Heaps of suggestions could be made to kill your boredom. :P

Or if 24 hour endurances in all A-spec don't appeal to you, feel free to visit the 200 A-spec point races subforum. You'll find lots of helpful information about how to 200 point every race in the game, and you definitely seem good enough to make into the "100000 Club."

I've considered starting on the 200 pt races.

Yes all 24hr races are A spec'ed but not 200 pt.

Oh sorry about not uploading a video Austin. The picture quality is so poor it actually hurt my eyes when I watched :( Guess camera's with video options aren't all they are cracked up to be. It kept going in and out of focus.

count me in too..,

I'm getting bored at GT4 these days lately, why?? because I don't have someone to play with.., my brother doesn't fancy racing games, I murder him every time we race.., and it seems that in the entirety of the university campus in which I'm enrolled in, I'm the only living soul that's interested/addicted to GT4, the others just go to computer shops and play Warcraft III DotA maps, Counter-Strike, online games, the usual..,

It's starting to hit me, it's just too much.., I want a "playmate", if you know what I mean.., I just find it boring when I'm playing my most favorite game all by myself.., :indiff::indiff::indiff:

any suggestions on how to get my enthusiasm back??

these won't work on me, Mafs..,

-24hrs enduros ain't gonna happen for me, my dad won't allow me to play the PS2 for 24 hours straight, because of obvious reasons..,

-I'm a touge man. I like tight corners and racing lines, not flat straight pieces of tarmac..,

-Test Course isn't just my thing..,

I've gotten bored with GT games before. For me, it doesn't help to try and force myself to keep playing. I usually put the game away.

This condition never lasts more than a couple weeks, however. :guilty: I work with cars all day...eventually I start getting the craving to race them.

But as D24/7 says, having someone to race against definitely helps. So does challenging yourself. But boredom is boredom. Eventually boredom wins and you gotta find something else to do. :indiff:

Oh man I know your pain. When I lived in New Zealand for seven years I became very close friends with many people there. Got involved in and helped launch Skylines Downunder car club. One of the club members fairly close to my own age and I became VERY close good friends. He got me started into the GT series. Both being very competitive we used to spend many nights at each others house racing against each other. He used to beat me on certain tracks and other tracks I'd just nip him out. This is going to GT2 btw!
Since I came back to the States however it just isn't the same. The past nearly 4 years haven't been as enjoyable playing.

I had to laugh though. Nothing against anyone here but I managed to find an old site I made, back in 2000 or 2001 can't remember the year, which involved 2 local car club's members teasing each other who had the best GT2 players. This would have been around the launch time of GT3 Prolog.
So we set up a racing season to settle it. Please don't laugh too much if you view the site, and fair warning there are a crap load of popups that hit the site as it was a free hosting place. SDU GT2 Racing Season

God I miss those days :sly:

LAN event.

Check out the Rumble Strip / Local Gatherings thread.

If you're in California, drop Smallhorses a line. Next one should be at Easter. Else, start your own - find a community room (school?) start a thread, get five other people to bring PSTwos (or fatties with network adapters) their controllers of choice, TVs, and blank memory cards, use a network switch and CAT5 cables to join em up, and away you go!

Famine and I organise the UKGTP events, we have a blast - and with GT5 delayed indefinitely (well, that's what it feels like) then you might as well go head to head in the same room!

If you do decide to DIY, get in touch for the full skinny on how to set the machines up in options. Us old hands will walk you through it.

You can also go back to GT 3 and start from nothing.
Race with the minimum car for the event.
Mess around with some of the "old" tracks like SSR-11 and Rome Circuit, that didn't make it into GT-4....
Do all the time trials and arcade races before you start a career.
Try keeping your cars under 50,000 credits for mods, or 50,000 credits total outlay.

Gil,

Unfortunately GT1-3 were when I lived in New Zealand, thus being a PAL version. Living back in the States now I had to purchase a new PS2 and GT4 then start from scratch again.

Ty though
