All these people have gold licenses. The ones with the (III) have gold in all 3 GT games.

While I agree with the improved driving skills by getting gold, I've never had the patience, nor the finances to pay for the controllers that I've thrown through a wall while trying to achieve golds.
My compliments to those with the drive and patience to do it.
