Boxster Race

Hello y'all. After trying to search the forum I came up empty handed for a problem I am having, which is this:

My copy of GTA4 has a bug, it won't load up certain car manufactures, ie; Suburu,Saleen,RUF and the I need to enter the Boxster Event but only certain cars are allowed, Suburu,RUF, but since they won't load what OTHER car manufactures can I use in this race? I've tried buying other Station Wagons to compete but it won't allow me.

If all else fails, I'll have to borrow a copy from somewhere and beat that Event.

You mean the Boxer events? You need a car with a boxer (horizontally opposed) engine. Basically, you're limited to Rufs and Subarus if you want to win.

Cheers mate. I can atleast try it with the VW Karmann Ghia. I somehow doubt the VW is a worthy contender though.

Sounds like a bad DVD. Could you buy a new game for about $10 where you are? (Wal-Mart here had them for that price).

No, Karmann Ghias can't accept enough power to win these. I found that in an Impreza I'd need about 425 horsepower at Hong Kong for instance...you wouldn't need as much in the lightweight K. Ghia, but I know Ghias can't accept enough power, even when maxed out. It's too bad, really.

So second hand dealers don't load those brands either, that's wierd. Otherwise you could've gotten a good Impreza second hand.

Yeah, I bought the game used for £10, when I noticed the bug I had the scratches cleaned (Blockbuster does it for £2). Only fails to load on a few companies, Renault,Suburu,RUF,Saleen.

I'll never get 100% completion using this game, more so on the Rally events where the prize cars are Suburu's.

My best bet is to sell this game for a few quid and buy another copy.

Or buy a used Subaru 22B from the used car lot. I believe even stock, it stands a good chance at winning.

Yes, assuming you can purchase used Subarus, but not tune them because you can't go to their dealer, a stock Subaru Impreza 22B '98 might be able to win the Boxer Spirit races.

Or perhaps you can buy a used Subaru and tune it at Blitz?

Or perhaps used Subarus don't load properly either because of where their information is stored?

He said that the companies don't load - which I infer to mean the dealership main pages. This would leave prize cars and used cars unaffected.

So he could also win an Impreza RC from Special Conditions... And put it on Sport Tyres, obviously...

Sorry if there's confusion, I worded it wrong. What happens is, I can bring up the car companies fine, it's when I go to New Cars,Classic Cars it will freeze when the car(s) are suppose to appear.

Same happens when I win specific cars, it will say "Congratulations" but no car appears. On the bright side, not being able to do some races leaves me the time to compete in the duller races (IMO) like Company Events.

x2 - Sounds like its time to get a new disk. No sense in working to complete a game only to find out that your data could become corrupt when you switch over to a disk that is in better condition.

Good point mate! I'm only at 27% complete, so it's not too far in.

for a really fun challenge take the cusco advan impreza with...s2's on it turn asm and tcs off. make sure you are the only subuaru on the field ive gotten about 45 or so a spec points as well from this trick.

I also noticed today that my Arcade Mode won't play either. What a crap copy I got...
