Is it just my inbox, or have email spammers been getting stranger and stranger? I just got one today that I could hardly keep from laughing at. Take a look...

Has someone damaged your tree?

You might be entitled to the replacement cost.

Even a small tree is worth THOUSANDS of dollars!

I take great pride in offering my services as a Horticultural Consultant.
We provide tree appraisals and expert testimony regarding tree values.

Whether a historical landmark or a tree in your yard,
if someone has damaged it, we can appraise it to the highest of value.

Tell me your situation...

Reply with your name, address and phone number. You
will be contacted shortly!

To be removed from future offers
please reply with "remove" in
the subject line.

Honestly, how many people do they really expect will give their name, address, and phone number to some unkown person on the internet? Get real, spammers.

That's actually an excellent money making scheme. One person sits down and thinks up a thousand different little ideas such as... Lose 50 lbs. in 10 days, damaged trees, earn $1000 per week looking at naked women, earn big money playing video games etc etc etc... They e-mail to a bazillion different adresses (through a piece of spamming software) They gather a giant list from all the people that actually replied, compile it and sell it to marketing firms. And what did they really have to do? Nothing.

Yeeeessssss .... and these people have more information than you could possibly imagine. http://www.acxiom.com How do I know? They're based in my town, I worked there, and now I have more friends that work even more 'intimately' with their data. It's really scary how much they know about us.

They have Dell and Sun servers as far as the eye can see. Just counting the storage here in town (they have locations all over the world), I would say they have over 15 pentabytes of data storage available. That's 15,000,000 gigabytes.

You wanna see something really freaky? The CEO, Charles Morgan, his son like to race cars. So they decided to make a racing team so he could go play with fast cars. http://www.dennis-setzer.com/ Does that mean they have too much money? I think so ...

One of my favorite scams:
"Send me one dollar and I will tell you how to be a millionaire."
Then email back telling them to do the same to others.

Haha...I had forgotten all about that post, but I do remember getting that email now that you've reminded me!

Whoa, that must have been a pretty cool place to work... :D Did you ever have the authority check up on information about yourself?

i got some spam in the inbox today asking whether or not i wanted the chance to win a holiday. i clicked on it, laughed at this counter at the bottom of the page. it was a .gif file, and it was going down from 250 down in 5's to 0. it was trying to indicate how many places were left on this plane going to the holiday resort. i left it for a while, and refreshed the page. oh look, it's back at 250. useless.
