Something I'd not done before a brake comparison between normal and sports brakes. So I headed along to the 0-1000m test, accelerated to the 400m line the jumped on the stoppers.

When comparison was made between the same car with sports and normal brakes no difference was readily aparent. This may have had something to do with using a Mine's Skyline (I suspect that it already has pretty good brakes) so I tried it with R34 V-spec and got the same result

The cars also were fitted with a brake balance controller but the tests were done using the same settings (F19 R16).

I guess I need to try this without the BB controller and see what happens ;)

So as brake fade does not appear to be modeled in the game are the sports brakes of any use or are they a waste of money????

I buy sports brakes and balancer, just because it's nice to be able to fine-tune the corner entry behaviour. Messing with the brake bias can help some cars.

got that right, on some of the cars I have, the Rear bias is sometimes higher than the front, especially when I am having trouble turning the car
Also depending on the track, Monaco is one where I usually have the Brake bias the other way around

I will always buy the BB controller....its the sports brakes that I think don't offer a significant increase in performance

Possibly experience brake fade later on in the lap?

I can remember my first car (mx-5) chucking on a brake upgrade did make a difference though :)...All the other cars I've had all braked well to begin with but I just chuck it on coz I have lots o $$$$
