Brakes!

So, I don't do much tuning in GT5 yet, but there's one thing I gotta ask. And it's about the brakes. I had to learn to use both the regular brake and the handbrake in order to decelerate fast enough to gold all 60 licenses. I use a dual shock 3 controller. Since I learned that trick, I've made a bad habit of using the EBrake to override the ABS and slow down quite a bit faster... But too often I squeeze the handbrake too much and nearly spin out. Can I change the ABS settings to give me the stopping power I want? I can't turn off the ABS entirely with the dual shock 3, since the controller can't provide the precision the game needs for real brakes without ABS.

 Handbrake?
Ever heard of brake balance? Just set a higher brake sensitivity on the rear and use ABS 1.

Seriously. I use an analog stick for braking, and R2 for the handbrake. Using both was the only way, on default settings, I could decelerate fast enough for the licenses and competitive racing online with people who have cokckpits and pedals. Now, it's not both at the same time, but first the regular brakes and then adding handbrake carefully to maximize the deceleration. Near the end of a long stretch of braking, nearly locking the tires with additional force from the handbrake slows any car (in gt5) down really really fast at lower speed. really, really fast.

You obviously haven't golded the licenses with a dual shock 3. Try Golding all the accelerate and brake in a straight line licenses with a controller. you'll see.

Braking on a DS3 and wheel is not different.
And hey, I did these licenses with a controller and not with my wheel. Why? Cause it's easier to drive in a straight line.

Like I said, set a higher brake balance.
