How is the breaking in procedure? Is it just like GT5, do around 200 miles or is it shorter? Forgive me if it has been answer already.

Engine break-in is what I'm referring to, like to gain more hp... Don't know if you're been sarcastic ;) but nevertheless, that's what I meant...

I just did an oil change in brand new cars, before driving a mile, and the HP went up by 5% ALWAYS like clock work.

Edit Btw I meant this on Gt5, haven't tried 6 yet.

Wouldn't hurt to see if it makes any difference in HP, before and after.
Just tried it myself, yep it gives huge gains. +37 HP for the Huayra.

Now I have to oil change all 27 of the cars I started out with :indiff:

Good info but what about after droving one for about 200 miles and then changing oil again, will it gain more hp like in GT5? That was my original question...

related, do I have to give new cars an oil change still?

It seems to me the cars have their real power figure now when purchased and after oil change it does increase. Unlike previous GT's where their power figure was always below what it should be until oil change.

As for breaking-in, I bought a S15 Silvia, oil changed it to get 258hp, it never rose from there and now after 200km's or so it has decreased. No increase in power noted at all from breaking-in.

EDIT: Just changed the oil again in the S15 and the power is back to the original 258hp it started with, no increase overall.

Cool I believe that answer my question, dang you already drove one car 200 miles and I still haven't been able to play the game that spent two hours downloading....

Well I'm in Australia which is a day ahead pretty much so I have had more time with the game, plus I said 200km's not miles. (125 miles roughly) ;)

Ah I see, well today I should be able to get my hands on it and try for myself...

Just FYI because it doesn't actually matter... I don't know about the USA, but in Australia we call it "running in" the engine. We "break in" horses. But I am pretty sure we all knew what you meant as it is a commonly used term.

Yep the same 5% increase in HP, works on every car in which a oil change can be done (i.e. no Tesla etc.), and seems the cheapest way to get 5% increase.

I only have 3 cars, but changing the oil at 0.0 miles didn't increase the hp on any of them. My Focus ST has 220 miles on it and is still at the 303hp I tuned it to at mile 40 even after another oil change. I've definitely checked this on all 3 cars, so what's the difference?!

Edit, I haven't updated to 1.01 yet because of slow Internet due to terrible weather, etc.

Maybe it has to do with you being on 1.0. I have quite a number of cars and the oil change did increase the hp every time. Even had to limit the power of the Mercedes Vision GT for the seasonal as it was above the required PP after the oil change.
