Never ever ever ever ever !
Just a thought, but it would be nice to have the British Touring Cars in GT5 or even the World Touring Cars with your favorite driver's cars that you can choose from so that you can emulate a winning or losing season.

I think having these sort of Champiomships in GT5 will bring much more excitement to GT enthusiasts. Even having a few updates of these vehicles/championships in Prologue will stop everyone from being boared having to race around one track with only 2 - 3 cars that can set the fastest lap times.

Please give feedback if this something that might be of interest. I know i'm new here on GT Planet but like everyone i have a few ideas too.:)

Simbin have the license for the WTCC, so it's probably not available to PD.

Didn't codemasters have the TC license though?

Indeed, the most PD can do is to license the actual cars from the manufacturers and I think the maunfacturer-teams. I'm not so sure what happens for the independant teams. But they couldn't make a championship called the "BTCC" or "WTCC" because they do not own the license. The cars though are licensed by manufacturers, so I think they can use those.

At least, GT2 did have the 1999 BTCC cars as race modifications, so I assume thats how it works for the cars anyway.
As for circuits, that depends on the owners of the circuits methinks.

Very true. Come to think of it, GT4 actually has a car from the WTCC which is the BMW 320i so it definately could be done through the manufacterers.

Yeah, no series really has any exclusivity to the tracks so for example, Brands hatch and Silverstone could easily be added.

Those were some of my favourite cars from GT2, I loved having the odd touring car race with my friends. Ford Mondeo BTCC FTW!

Hehe, seriously though Dirk Mullers 320i was in GT4 so it is a case of the vehicles being licensed from the manufacturers I suppose. Just like the F2007.
