British Formula Three Championship

With the Ayrton Senna WSR F3 car



Welcome to the British Formula Three Championship, an entry level series for developing F1 alien pilots. We race the Ayrton Senna WSR F3 car on a variety of original tracks as well as Brands Hatch and Silverstone. Races are sprints, every Saturday at 21:00 GMT. There are 20 championship races in total, plus the end of season non-championship Macau Grand Prix. See you on the track!

Tires: Racing Hard/Racing Wet

All Driving Aids are OFF, but have no fear, the brakes on this car are so phenomenal that if you set them both at 10/10 with no ABS they still won't lock up


Tuning: Allowed(No GT Auto Improve Body Rigidity however)

Event Procedure

Lobbies are opened on Saturdays at 21:00 GMT and are hosted by ryan428scj

Make sure ryan428scj is on your friends list or else you will not be allowed in the lobby

21:00-21:30 GMT is practice

21:30-22:00 GMT is Qualifying, at this time I will change Lobby Settings for the race to start at 22:00 GMT and then Qualifying will begin

22:00 GMT race start

Race ends between 22:20 and 22:30 GMT

First of all, I'd like to participate, but unfortunately, I can't race Online due to Internet issues.

Just an advice: Instead of setting a lap limit (like 20 laps), set a distance limit in km, so the duration of the races are more or less equal.
For example, compare Silverstone and Brands Hatch (Indy) , if both races are 20 laps the one on Silverstone will be much longer.

I wish you best of luck with this tournament!

Softs make the series easy especially with a car as light and as powerful as this. Even sport tyres would make for good grip.

That is part of the whole point. This allows drivers to push harder while at the same time retaining some of the occasional unpredictability with the stock tune. Besides, Racing Hard tires on this car with the stock tune cause too many spins with no warning before the grip will give away. Also, have you ever stopped and thought, that maybe there could be good grip with some cars in real life? Why are people so against grip? It makes no sense.

mate, trust me, when I used softs it was a terrible decision, it was no fun

Because if you have all this grip you just can floor it around every turn. People won't make mistakes as it isn't possible, so there is less racing.

Because driving a car on rails isn't fun. You want to be able to slide it like they did in real life. Its no fun without that.
 
Racing Hard tires it is. I guess I'll just have to deal with spinning like a top every race; probably won't finish higher than dead last, because the basis of my driving style lies on my pace.
 
Racing Hard tyres make you oversteer but for other side, Racing Soft would not be fair to other drivers (RS tyres have less grip and last less time than RH tyres especially if 1 pit stop is required). In real life, they use the RH tyres, so I recommend you putting RH tyres in the championship otherwise the RS tyres will spoil take the fun away. ;)

Yes as massive GT-style "ton of grip" slicks were not in an old F3 car. GT doesn't take tyre width into account for grip levels - which is why RH tyres on a Ralt will offer as much grip as a Range Rover Evoque.

Yes it does actually, hence all the issues with the wheel width glitch from release.

That was for custom rims only.
 
What time is this at in the UK mate?

Also a suggestion, use racing hard tyres. softs are terrible

Which GMT+/- is BST?

Even Sport tyres would have good grip for this series.

Sports tires are a no-no.

How come tuning prohibited? Back end get really lose on certain tracks as standard

Tuning is prohibited to add more realism(It was the real setup used) and to prevent drivers with a better tune to have an unfair advantage.

Everyone: Stock tune, RH tires. I'll start working on the calender as soon as I can, which probably won't be until this weekend.
