A List of records GT5 is set to break or has broken.

1. Highest production cost of a racing game, console exclusive title and Playstation game - $60million-$80milion

2. Most cars in a racing game - 1031

3. Largest Install of Console Game and Racing Game - 10GB

4. Largest 24 hour sales increase by a video game on Amazon.com? - 1300%

5. Largest Video Game ever - Unknown, but most of a dual layer blu-ray so probably around 66GB if they used the newer discs.

6. Highest polygon count for a person/item/vehicle in a video game - 500,000

These are the ones I can think of. Pretty impressive. A couple of these were previously held by it's previous title. And there are more that the series itself still holds like:

1. Best Selling Playstation 1 title - GT1
2. Best selling Playstation exclusive series
3. Game for Game, the best selling racing title - 8.7 million units per game

And that's just a few. I even think it's competing with GTA for the most records held by a video game series.

Just wish they hire tons more people to model cars to premium and make more cars we want. No more damn Nissan's nor Honda's. Enough is enough!

As for those records, I wish I can say it's more impressive than it's just on paper.

I feel like I have said this a thousand time but lets shoot for 1001. Complaining about multiple Nissans is merely suggesting that you have not put any thought into what you are complaining about.

Having X number of GTR's does not mean that you get -X number of other cars. There is often very little difference between models. This means that PD only need to model the base car, then make quick and minor changes to produce all the different variants. It would cost them almost nothing in terms of production time to include them, so why not? Why would you rather have less cars when their inclusion is more or less, free?

More Hondas and Nissans isn't a bad thing, but definitely add more offerings from other manufacturers across the globe. If they're going to, say, add every generation of the Skyline, then by all means toss in the six generations of Corvette in their various trim-levels as well. We could also use some more Aussie love in the garage -- some of the recent Holden Special Vehicles intrigue me.

I would say racing game with the longest development time 2000 days
game having the most versions of one car model Skyline GT-R R34
game with the most concept vehicles 49
those are off the top of my head

I thought this was going to be a thread about members who post the same comments over and over again (like a broken record).

The above comment would be a good example. How many times have I read the "actually, it's only been delayed twice" comment?:)

Most people complaining about the delay?
Most people complaining about features they would have wanted but did not make the final cut?

Difficult to quantify though.

===============================

It actually shows how much the title is wanted and trusted to be the best, just my opinion though.

Actually, I think Duke Nukem Forever has that title.

That also has the longest development time of, erm, everything?

Apparently they're trying to get it going again... or so I saw in a mag somewhere

There's one record GT5 won't break, and hopefully GT6 won't either (perish the thought)
