Pretty sure i saw rolo do mid 1 09s , the car is slow but it makes it up in that 2nd sector

I could only do a 1.09.717 with draft in race.

I did a very one-off 1:09.6 in practice, but realistically it was 1:10.0 or 1:10.2. In the race though the draft absolutely killed us.

Cornering is fine, and that's why we don't need a weight reduction. It's pure lack of grunt that's causing us issues.

I managed a 1:09.6 in practise but only a 1:09.9 in the race. I was paranoid that I was gonna get caught up from the draft as the audi does lack that bit of poke down the straight :(

I was 2 seconds quicker around Monza in the Focus that was before the tyre update!:nervous:

We'll be running Monza in the wet this season though (probably at 100%), so I wonder if that will change much?

I'll be missing next Friday's meet - I'm off to see England spank San Marino.

I'll do grid before and points after as per normal. 👍

Remember that San Marino keeps the record of the fastest goal done in world cup quali session, done to england;)

I'm considering asking for a power upgrade for the Audi (but keep weight the same as changing that won't help).. I mean our power limiters are at 55% (or at least mine is)... and a lot of the tracks have long straights.

Sorry I can't agree with you. Audi is smoother overall, and I don't remember any power up for Vectra last season..still we done some decent laps too

You didn't really have a power issue last season though? Your problem was more lack of grip, right? Vectra seemed speedy enough on the straights.. it was pretty fast at Monza, for example.

Vectra had A LOT of problems, for Monza we done a speed-only setup for example

Remember Audi's lost its biggest advantage, what made it a good pick was its mega tyre wear updates splattered that.:ouch:

Just watched both replys, great racing race one was so close, 4 different cars on the top 4 split between less than 1s across the line (VW, Mazda, Ford and Audi)

2nd race was a lot harder, pretty much the whole pack split between a couple of seconds, very tough coming through the pack.

Very enjoyable tho.

RE the Audi I guess it's to early to say if it needs a upgrade but there has been a lot of time for testing, most of the time tho it only seemed to be me and Skeng in a lobby running laps........

Here's a bunch of pictures of the 2nd race.
Sorry if they are a bit BMW heavy :D

And sorry for the long post ;)

I did a lot of running during Season 2. I guess sometimes though you only find things out when it's time to race. Getting group tests organised has proved very difficult.

Looking at that last picture Julle, how did you beat me by 0.001?!?

Thought about not to publish this picture, but might have been inaccuracies in the replay :D

While I agree with you, I also disagree with you. You guys had a chance to change cars. If things need be then I think audi could use a power upgrade.

I think it all matters on how the cars are in overtaking zones. I done the impossible by somehow passing a golf down the straight but that was only because I got sh.it close in the last corner, was the only real solution. Also me and julle being stuck behind a mazda for 70% of race 2 was pretty frustrating...Had to make a move on the downhill fast right hander.

I'd rather be strong in overtaking zones than corners.

You all say we had time testing and your right but the update which has helped all the other cars (tyre wear) was only out last week right.
So the testing is irrelevant.

Great pictures

Sorry if I came across as 'you didn't test it so tough' I don't mean to be and I'm not, would be nice to get involved in more sessions with you guys tho, you can never have to much testing!

Also, can I make a suggestion? Why is the pit window so small? Could it be open for one extra lap either side? I think it would make it slightly more tactical and it should spread the risk of people with cold tires rejoining in battles with people on warm tires......

👍
It was very frustrating... I'm not looking forward to Monza :(

Also gedi 👍
No degradation of the ff's front tires anymore :(
But just means we (rwd, 4wd) have to work harder, and the racing gets surprisingly close, though this could be caused by what Killa mentioned.

No powerup, just change cars. This could be a good think, not a powerup, because audis are very good in traction,if you put more horsepower that would be like a ubercar. Also for being behind someone for an entire race, its a situation I know particulary well, but I hadn't ever a complain about this. Man this is race 1 and audis are already to be trashed? I think in other tracks they'll do fastest laps and won races, like trial mountain, tsukuba etc.. I think is unfair modify now horsepower, indeed I think changing car could be right.

Exactly what I mean :)

Well don't be surprised if Audis win at Tsukuba anyway. That's all traction and cornering and no straights.

That's the one I'm looking forward to!
These long straight tracks aren't my favourite :)

Thats why we're voicing our concerns now for a possible review. Noones calling for a review at this moment in time, only speaking about the possibility in the near future...We'll see how it goes. Cars have good tracks and bad tracks...

I ran the Audi with no aero tonight in the hope of more straight line speed. All a bit meaningless as I had not run the car in yet, it had only done 30 odd miles :dunce:. Preisty got me on the start/finish straight but ran deep into braking zone and I went up the inside of him thinking that would be me safe until end of lap but he had out dragged by me before the top of the hill. I know us Audi's will have our day on some tracks but it is frustrating to do all the work then have someone blast by you on the straight and basically park it in the corner. Not meaning you Preisty, but it seems like this is the way to beat the Audi's.

I know what you mean stu, last night was hard work fighting through the pack then come the straight it was all lost just like that.

Those FF cars now have the speed + excellent tyre wear now which is where the Audi made up for the lack of top speed, but all is lost now.

Moving on.....

I wouldnt go as far as saying that ffs now have good tyre wear , it has been improved for every car so if the 4wd an fr cars had better tire wear before its even better now
