Just been running laps in GVE in my Audi to compare against my ST times, yes on the straight I didn't have as high a top speed as my ST but there were places on the track I was noticeably faster in the S4, the kink over the hill I was carrying an extra 4/6mph more, whole of sector 2 and the right hander out the tunnel and the long right turn before the straight I could carry more speed, plus the tires were still in better condition.

I was using a DS3 instead of my wheel so I can reckon I could go faster again, I was hitting 1:10.3's.

Also whoever said they were only hitting 121 over the line that must be an issue with the gears as I was hitting 129 with full aero.

Anybody who's interested in my tune give me a shout, it's made for a wheel but does work with a DS3 :)

I have an explanation buds: I'm withdrawing. I sent Geeky a PM yesterday before the race. The main reason is because I don't really have the time as I'm managing to major series myself. But also because it has kinda lost the fun for me. Remember back in S1? We were a little rough, but we were forgiving, and were enjoying (almost) every second of battle. Just take last race in S2 as an example and I think that's nuff said

129? Im doing 130 over the line. :baffled: so the audis not really that slow then?

OK fair enough. Driver line-up updated. What does this mean for Melancholy? Is he still racing or not? If he isn't then we might as well open up the space for someone else.

Haven't seen Joe for weeks either 💡

Yeah over the line in the Audi I was 128/129 but towards the end of the straight I was only 136/137.

Not sure way my ST line speed is but end of the straight I was 140/141.
 
What do people think to this proposal:

If (starting from now) a driver misses 3 consecutive Fridays without informing Geeky/this thread/someone in the series on GTP, they will have their spot in the series removed and it will be offered to a reserve?

Grids are lower than they should be because people are just going AWOL.

Yeah he Im doing 130 in the beemer when I cross the line, And I ran full aero last night.

I said 121, i just remembered that number, and thought it was the speed over the line. I then realised it was the speed at the start of the grid :dunce:. my bad
 
Did some top speed runs at SSRX with the Audi and Ford.

Ford top speed = 146.6
Audi top speed = 165.1

Clearly our problem isn't acceleration from the start or actual top speed... maybe our gearing is wrong?

nothing wrong with my gearing trust me. ask jb ours gearing trick is spot on :)

bet the audi took longer to get there?? wasnt a very good test considering the length of that straight.
 
Could well be, not on at the mo but from what I can remember the torque band is better than on the fords too.

In real terms I really don't think it is that bad, like you say I think the original gearing after the power reduction is not that best for the series regs. Lower the gearing and it could be a winner! ;)

I use the same trick, since I'm running a jb setup on my car. The car I used though was using a default customisable transmission, as was the Ford.

I did take an age tbh and it didn't max out, either. The Focus maxed out before 2000m I think.

Dont know mate wasnt looking was more looking at the people behind at how quick they was catching and trying not to give them draft :)

I always check to see my speed coming across the line. When practising for GVS, if my speed was below 130 then I'd just scrap the lap. A good exit from last corner and taking a wide line in the last right kink gives as much speed as possible. Reduce turning radius thus reducing friction.
 
just wondering what time you guys are running at the nur gp/d... i'm almost as slow as the vectra so far O_o
