Bubble cars in GT5!

Has anyone realised that bubble cars have never been included in GT. A bubble car was a car that was built to be cheap and encomoical back in the 1950's and 1960's. They stopped building them after two decades, but It would be really cool to have them on GT!

Really big image

This is a 1957 BMW Isetta 300!

The Fiat 500 and Subaru 360 are pretty close to that, don't see the point of having even more of those cars on the game.
Still there's the Midget's, which are also toys, more than enough really.

I don't think many people get a kick out of taking endless minutes to complete a single lap on a small circuit. Only thing those cars suit is photomode purposes, they're mostly well modelled and textured.

I'm not saying the game should have only high-powered cars, only that those cars you're talking about are less than enjoying to 'drive'.
I'd prefer to see more everyday cars, cars that you'd see all the time on the streets, with their highest specs.

I know what you are saying. But I still think they should be included as they are supposed to be fun to drive!

I think this "midget" cars should be great not only for photo mode but for racing as well.Should include a midget race series (which is like the lightweight k cup but less powerful and smaller) and could race on a small circuits like tsukuba circuit or the driving park.Should be an easy race for beginners and fun for the usual GT gamers.

Yeah, they should. The Bubble cars should be intresting to drive aswell since they only have 3 wheels, 2 at the front and 1 at the back. By the way, Bubble cars are the proper name for these things!

They'd only be fun to drive if you could drive them on specialized circuits, narrow and twisty, almost no straights.

On regular tracks they're just plain boring. Of course, even then, they'd have to be tuned or they don't move. Sort of.

YES! more of these old Microcars would be welcome. Many dont' see the point, but I tend to think that's because they haven't been involved in a wheel-to-wheel battle with a bunch of them. But the series would have to be on short tracks. Long circuits like the Nurb are just, well, too long. I do have an idea for the race tracks...

1. Autumn Ring Mini (GT1-4)
2. Driving Park Motorland (GT4)
3. Motor Sport World (GT2)
4. Motegi West
5. A 1/4 mi bullring, maybe even dirt

whats todays equivelant? the smart car i think.

Close as you're gonna get. But cars like the BMW I showed you are bubble cars. These things were made from the early 1950's to the late 1960's. The Smart car is called a city car over here in England, is it different anywhere else?

The Smart is actually pretty big compared to a bubble car. I think Autocar did a comparo of the Smart ForTwo and the original Cinqecento (Fiat 500), and it towered over the little four seater.

PD would have to create bespoke tracks for those things to make sense... maybe a small autocross course or a little park.... or even a really twisty street course in the "Opera" vein, but featuring smaller roads and more turns.

Mind you, the handling on small cars is not boring, per se... but having to wait a full minute to get to the next corner might turn some people off.

In fact, many of GT4's tracks are too big and long for many street cars... which is why I'd like more tracks like Citta d' Aria, as it's a nice, challenging track for slow cars, but hellishly slow drudgery in bigger vehicles. ;)

Not really. The term refers to the "bubble roof" - aircraft-style cockpit canopies - on the Messerschmitt vehicles.
