The last Bugatti finished by Jean Bugatti.

The Type 64 was supposed to replace the Type 57, but due to Jean Bugattis fatal accident in 1939, only one full prototype and two rolling chassis were made. As I am a sucker for Art Déco streamliners, I am suggesting the complete Prototype. It featured a new, aluminium frame and a new, 4.4L DOHC Inline 8 engine, the suspension consisted of a traditional live axle setup front and rear. This Prototype was fitted with a streamlined 4-seater body resembling the Type 57 SC Atlantic. After the WW2, the car was used as a company car at Bugatti.
Like many historic Bugattis, the car now belongs to the Cité de l’Automobile – Musée National – Collection Schlumpf.

Facts:

4432cc DOHC 16v Inline 8, 185hp
4-speed Cotal gearbox, rear-wheel-drive
L/W/H: 4850 x 1730 x 1530mm
1265kg
180kph
