Hi All,

Are there any known explanations of why the Veyron is a Standard car and not Premium? Are there plans for a Premium version Bugatti?

Thanx in Advance!!!

I have been wondering about the Veyron being a standard car aswell. Strange that the world's fastest car is a standard car in this game. Maybe someday in the future we can download a DLC from the Playstation Store and we could get the new Bugatti Veyron (Bugatti Veyron Supersports). It's even faster than the old Veyron we have in the game :D I've noticed that the Veyron is a high quality standard car, some of the standard cars look terrible xP

But if anyone has any information about the Veyron being a standard car and not a Premium I would love it if someone would bother to post it here ;)

There could be thousands of reasons for this, none of which change the fact it handles like an absolute dog. If there was any news about plans for a premium Veyron you'd find them on the front page of this site, no doubt.

I guess one explanation could be that they modelled it before they wanted to model interiors, or they just couldn't be bothered, or they felt the Veyron was somewhat overrated by everyone and it didn't deserve premium status... As I said, no one knows except PD.

I hate my Veyron and hate wasting money on upgrades. I'm glad it isn't premium. Standard or premium it's fast and handles like a big rig.

That's all it seems to be good for is going fast in a straight line. Still, it's a great looking car IMHO.

Guessing the model was on the psp version or already made.... honestly it takes 6months to do a car per person... they can't hire 3939 people to model the cars

Veyron good for 2 things. 1st to accelerate off the line and the 2nd racing on online racing. Not that I am the best or smartest when it comes to car racing but I know the limitations of this car and it's great to find that person who thinks that HP is the end all be all of road racing. They get shocked when their believed Veyron gets a lesson in handling by something with a lot less HP. It seems as though in every race I have done online that had an Veyron in it, it spent the most time in the dirt.

They may well have wanted to do a premium but just didn't have the time (it was an '09 model) so they stuck in the standard version from GTPSP.

The Veyron... Yeah, it's got ZOMG 1000HP. That's it.

There's so many standard cars that would deserve the premium treatment so much more...

The thing about Veyrons is they look so much better in person. I put my grubby little mitts on one at a fancy Lambo dealership last year. The car is amazing to look at up-close, but I think they're sooo ugly in the game. At least in SHIFT you got a really accurate cockpit view.

Like the countachs, the veyron was made for PSP, obviously not to the quality of GT5. They ported all the GT4/PSP cars, so Veyron is standard.

They may make a premium version later, just like they have a premium ZR1 and a standard ZR1 (from PSP)

The Veyron isn't my favourite car but that thing is an engineering marvel. It really is... the build quality is amazing. Not to mention that is has a very plush, well equipped interior and can still get to 250+mph, it's very impressive. It deserves to be a premium car.

I thought it was rather odd that the Veyron is the car to use at Daytona Road Course in the Like The Wind event, and the Mazda Furai is the car to use for the Indy race (unless you already own an LMP/Group C or the FGT of course). I'd have thought it would be the other way around.

Personally, I think it's because there isn't much use for it other than being a novelty car as related to the game. I don't mean that to knock the car either. If I saw the car in person going down the road, my pants would be soiled on both sides. In the game though, there's really not that much use for it other than a couple ovals.

That being said, I'm not really sure what use my '44 Kubelwagen ever had other than being novelty either so who knows.

I haven't won it yet, but if it handles like crap, how much do you get for selling it so to invest the money in something that does handle?

As shocking as this is, And it really is Awful, Its not as if they promised a premium Veyron ever, they only said that the new cars to the series would go premium... And the Veyron was on PSP so it doesn't count...

The biggest shock for me is The Jaguar XFR!!! IT IS STANDARD!!! And definately new to GT since it's only existed since after the PSP game...

I would guess that in order to make a premium model, they either need access to an actual car, or for the manufacturer to provide fully detailed blueprints and photos. Given the cost of this car and the limited numbers that exist, the chance of there being one available to borrow in Japan is minimal, so if the manufacturer won't release the plans or wants PD to sign agreements or pay extortionate licensing deals for access, it probably won't happen.

This is why (in my opinion) there are a lot of Japanese cars in the game - there are a lot of the cars available locally for the modellers to use as reference material, and the Japanese manufacturers are probably more approachable by a Japanese game company.

I don't think they're sellable - mine certainly aren't.

To answer the OP... I suspect it's because they're an awesome straight-line car yet distinctly mediocre in terms of cornering. My own opinion is that this is a dressed-up novelty Volkswagen (however iconic) that I won't be spending much time in.

I am unable to sell my Veyron aswell

My god who cares ? The only people that should be moaning are the people that use the cockpit view. And who seriously does. I want the words standard and premium banned from These threads forever lol.
