Bugs in GT2

Your memory card won't get corrupted unless you do one of two things:

1. Set more than 8 records at the Max Speed Test (game versions 1.0 and 1.1)

2. Memory card is removed during game save (or PSX freezes up during save, extremely rare!)

Again avoid the Max Speed Test!!! Do your top speed records at the Test Course race for Tuned Turbo No.1 cars, or get the records on the Arcade Disk (no serious bugs there).

Using anything more than a 1x card isn't always a good idea, either (such as 16x, or whatever). If the battery dies, you're out of luck. Get a second card (about US$7 nowadays) for backups.

Or get a DexDrive. I like it.

Sometimes, I repeat sometimes, after you get 9 or so records on the Max Speed Test your whole garage gets wiped or all your cars get renamed to Not Available or something like that and you can't use them. :nervous:

Australia sucks when it comes to those things...:(

I've seen the Gameshark in EB and Harvey Norman.

You could always get the Dex Drive from overseas via the internet and have it brought in.

one day i saw 166 green "No Name" cars in my garage. When i tried to choose one the screen became black, i went to licenses & then to races, then chose one & game stopped.
There are many interesting bugs. My advice is not to save before checkin' your garage.

my garage got corupted........%^$@)(*$^&*$$^!
and now i'm mad, i have the greatest hits version and never save after max speed test......except once, so tell me why did my garage go loco?

I'm on day 400 on the GH version and have never had a problem yet. How long does it take for the battery to die in a multi X memory card?

I've had my garage get phucked up before. Usaully it's the very last car, it says it weighs like 29lbs and has 5,3XX HP at 29,000 RPM.....go to race it and there's no freak'n drivetrain...or it's broke or something.

Just make sure you don't save it after it's messed up, just hit reset.

Hm.. the same thing happened to me. I had an Angle TO1 that I wanted to sup up for the hell of it and after I did a top speed test it had about 1,500 hp but with no drivetrain. The same happened with a Celica I once had, but it went down to 1 hp and 6000 pounds. Needless to say, it never moved. The game is so great but full of many bugs. They should of at least kept it in a month or even a couple weeks to clear these out.

ok...ok...enuf questions. How about an announcment?? I BEAT THE GAME!! WOOOOHOOOOOO!!!! 100.00% (i have the NTSC, so i can't get 100.91%) I've started to work on all gold, i only have the B class so far

I was having trouble with it for a little bit,i was stuck at 98.xx, then I remembered the Event Generator races. For some reason, it doesn't show the cup in the corner, but it does count in your Complete percentage.

WELCOME TO GTPLANET!!!! You probably can you just need to know where to look. Easiest place would prolly be the web, e-bay or sumthing.

Terbo
I received my first copy of GT2 on Christmas day of 2000.
I played it nonstop [Well except for a few hours of sleep once in a while] till completed Newyears eve.
I doubt if that is a record but I imagine that it is pretty darn good.

"A special note to SaccMann:
Are you getting ready to post a degrading, harsh, or downright stupid comment?
Think before you speak! GTPlanet is only as good as you make it."

Thanks for the advice.
I can only think as well as my brain allows.

I have one of the first games that came out which it is not possible to get past 98.??%
Gameshark pro has a code for all races complete which jumps you up to over 100%
I then bought the GT2 Greatest hits due to the fact that the bugs were supposed to be corrected.
With it I now have 100% on games that were only 98.??% and and increase in the saved games useing the all races completed code.

I believe that alot of your memmory card problems are more due to the use of low quality memmory cards or possible over use of the memmory cards. Also the use of codes in the Gameshark if not entered properly or just a bad code can corrupt the cards or shorten their lives.
