I've read in rules for GT2 Competitions and stuff that hitting other cars is not allowed. Fair enough. And obviously in a real race it'd be a detriment.

So while I race I try to not hit the cars, stay back and pass when there's a good opportunity, etc.

But WTF man! They don't try to not hit you ! It's almost impossible.

Do you guys make it through races without ever touching another car?

Only when driving the Escudo, when you pass everyone before the first corner

Ahem...

Grand Turismo, The Ultimate Driving Simulator .

In a simulation the idea is to simulate real GT racing. During these races the drivers try to not hit other cars. It takes the game to another level when you treat the other cars as something to not hit, like a wall. If you were to really hit the other cars in a real race you'd probably be done, hurt, or dead. And those are some expensive cars, too. Why would you take a 2,000,000 car out and smash it into other 2,000,000 cars?

It's easy to win smashing into everything, wich amounts to wall riding. Try winning without touching another car. It's a higher level of racing, not a "totally stupid idea.

But hey, if you can't do it keep tryin'.

Sometimes I do it just for the added challenge and also to keep it exciting in endurance races... when I'm about to lap yet another car I'll lay off and stick behind it for a minute or two just for some scenery. And then when he least expects it... buh-bye!

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
but you do get some sweet cars!

Sometimes I hate endurance races and would rather just take my favorite car out for a spin on different tracks, but other times they're exactly what I want, especially if it's a track I like. A perfect Sunday afternoon.

well, it is a simulation, as milefile said. its extremely easy to keep ur car from hitting other cars, and still keep up good times.. i think my best midfield time was recorded whilst other cars were on the track, and i wasnt in front of them all either. i had just spun out, and needed to get back to the front. it was foot to the floor the entire way. i passed 4 cars, not touching any of them, and recorded my fastest lap time.

Oh yeah......listening to Rob Zombie and Garbage for two straight hours........i like to hear the car though. Can you turn off Music and leave on SFX??

Yeah. Just got to "options" and it's all in there. I just keep the music really really low all the time.

Yeah. Once you're in the lead it's pretty easy to stay there, although I kept getting passed by a Saleen the other day in the straight at SS Rt. 5.

If it takes me an entire lap to pass everyone that's fine because when I watch the replay it looks like a real race and not a bumper car cartoon.

But it does suck the way the other cars ram you and try to spin you out. Sometimes I get really pissed and do it back 😈

Actually, I'm starting to think that the comp cars don't really realize that your there. Here's an experiment.

1)Go to Super Speedway
2)STOP!
3)turn and go the wrong way
4) Run straight on into a fast caron one of the stretches
5)Note that they don't try to avoid you
6)Notice your doing 150mp/h going backwards
7)Push Start, then down, then X
8)Wonder why you bothered to follow my instructions when you already knew the outcome
9)Hit yourself over the head

I just wanted to know if you'd actually do that last one :D

Great... thanks for the headache!

But seriously folks...
I think they do know you're there to some extent. If your on the long stretch on SS Rt. 5 and you know there's a car right bhind you and you adjust your view to be able to see him so you can block him, he will swerve to get around you.
