Well, this is my review of:
Burnout
Genre
Racing
The Story
No real story here, but the aim of the game is to pass through all the check-points, and win the races, to of course get better cars and move on to better tracks and championships. There is no cut-scenes or humans that you see in the game, so no story has come of this, just a pure racing game, no licenses either, although the cars do look similar to a few real-life counterparts. Of course another aim of the game is to see how big your crashes are. Very well created in the game.
Audio
The crashing sounds very realistic, as the screech of tires will send you round and round in circles, and impact sounds arent delayed. I havent really noticed the music in this game, but certainly I will give it a good word for the realistic sounds in the game.
Gameplay
There are 4 championships, each requiring a difficult level of skill. You cant save in-between races in a series, which makes it a lot harder. By the last championship, just about every race has to be done perfectly or else you will find a loss at your hands, which can be frustrating at times but is very good for a game. There are bonus cars after you get the championships done, and some special endurance tracks, which take a while to get through. A lengthy game, although it is because of the challenging parts.
Replay Value
Not a lot of replay value to be seen, although the endurance tracks can be fun every once in a while, or having friends over to have a big crash competition can also be quite fun, although completing the game gives a no traffic mode, where there is no traffic, although the checkpoints still exist, which is annoying, although the traffic is exactly the same when playing normally, so you can predict when a car will come through.
Graphics
Some nice graphics are to be seen here, of course it is not Gran Turismo, but it is still above average. Not too blocky, and with all the traffic, I have never had slow-down, although there is a bit of pop-up at times, but not as bad as some other games Ive played.
Load times
Load times are generally just a tad above average. Not really too fast or too slow, which is commendable for the amount of cars.
Special Features
No special features, just probably only the no traffic mode which can be handy for figuring out a way around the track, but other than that none really. The sequel has a lot more special features.
Summary
A good game, rent-first game though, because it may not suit your style of gaming, although it did suit myn quite nicely, and I dont regret the purchase. If you like a quick, in-your-face racer, this game is for you, and I promise, the last tracks will get your adrenaline pumping.
Pros
-Traffic!
-Very difficult![Smile :) :)](/wp-content/themes/gtp16/images/smilies/smile.svg?v=3)
Cons
-Not that many cars
-Not that many tracks
-No [checkpoint-free] mode
