Burn's out of Rally GB (before it starts)

Richard Burns will not be competing in the Rally GB, because he fainted at the weekend and was taken to hospital for tests.

Heres a link regarding this rather bizzare turn of events.

Pug have asked the FIA if they can replace Burns with Loix for the Rally GB.

Guess that its now a three way battle for the title and heres hoping that its nothing serious with regard to Burns.

i know, i know.... hyundai lack development. but so did skoda till the fabia and he wasnt even finishing rallys.

I dont really think he was going to be able to hang with Solberg and Sainz in any case.

Maybe a conspiracy by Soob so that he doesnt win the champ and punk-out Solberg next year?

I'm pleased that he's not going to win the championship, although with the way things have gone recently he would have had to have won the rally, and that might have meant that he would have actually deserved the World Championship win.

I don't want to wish misfortune on the man. If he went out and started winning rallies and beating his team-mate, I would be fine with him, but the fact remains that he hasn't actually done anything special ever in his career.

Might have to go hunting for records, but I strongly suspect that while driving for Peugeot, Burns has not finished ahead of Gronholm in any rally where the two of them have made it to the end.

After a very quick search the ones I found were both in 2002, Spain and Germany.

Spain Burns - 6pts, Gronholm - 3pts.
Germany Burns - 6pts, Gronholm - 4pts.

Plenty of situations in 2002 when that was the other way round.

But this year they do seem to have had a habit of not both finishing the same rally.
