Yay! And he proposed money for research into oil alternatives....

Of course, these same alternatives are already being used by other countries... but at least he's thinking about it.

During one of the post-speech speeches in Minnesota (I think), he said something to the effect of:

"We must conserve energy by using less."

...really?

Is that how that whole conservation thing works?

In other words, I don't trust his speeches as far as I can throw them.

(which, by the way, is none, considering how hard it is to physically throw sound)

Yes, that's typically it. Use less, spend less.

I mean, at least he's pushing for the money for research. But what he should really be doing is pouring some more money in to pilot programs and implementation.

Research is all well and fine, but unless you start running them in the real world, prices on alternative systems aren't going to go down. Other countries are already investing in the infrastructure... it's a shame we're still investing in the research.
