Button box

I started to work on a button box following this guys method http://altoguitar.com/buttonbox/
Im using an old xbox controller and have already wired it for usb and wired one of the pads to a button to see if it works, it works fine but when i load up a game and go to set for example the ebrake to this button it keeps telling me there are 2 controller devices in use, how do i use the g27 wheel and then use this controller button box and map the ebrake to it and use it at the same time?

Basically you just need to reconfigure all inputs in the game once so the game knows which controller does what. Remember to plug your wheel and button box into the same USB port every time, to avoid problems.

Ya i tried that but as soon as i try to map a button to the second controller it gives me that error, would it work better if i plugged the wheel and button box into a usb hub and then into one port on the comp?

I do not recommend using an USB hub (it often creates trouble instead of solving it).
Is a button 'stuck' perhaps?
Did you try configuring the game without the wheel plugged in? It makes no sense, I know, but just to see if your button box is working OK.
Which game are you using?

I tried it on project cars and grid 2,theres a chance i messed something up soldering the wires to the board, i only have the one button wired right now to see if it worked and it does light up when pressed when im in properties for the controller, ( on a side note i only just got the g27 the other day and already have my rig built......god damn do i love this thing :D driving games with stick shift and clutch is amazing )

I am working through this now myself, using a PS3 controller. It's my understanding that, much like the ps3 controller, a 360 controller does not work natively on the PC, have you found and installed the proper driver? Further, I would take the time to perhaps get a few more buttons hooked up, then disconnect the G27 and see if you can get the controller working on a different game without issue.
As for hubs, I use one, running my G27, a button box, and an x52 HOTAS flight stick. Along with a track ball. Never had a conflict. In theory you can run 127 devices on a USB port. The important part when getting a hub is to make sure it is quality and well powered. The amps the PC puts through the ports is not enough alone to power a bunch of electronics attached to a hub.
If you have the right drivers and all of that, have tested it alone andbworks fine, then either the Logitech and the 360 drivers are clashing or the game and the 360 drivers are clashing (more likely this).
In the end, after having mucked around with the ps3 controller, I think next time I'm going to use a bodnar board. USB native and much easier to build on.
