No one can stop one from lying but then you miss the fun of the challenge.
Agreed. 👍 And this is why I dropped that gentle hint
:
However - sportsmanship should be maintained.
No cheating.
Takes the fun out of it when someone brags for all the wrong reasons.
I had a great time with this last night - not much time to play, so I thought I'd do this challenge quickly since it wasn't going to take too much time.
Went in with my Evoque reduced to 450PP. No problemo - super clean race. And fast - rabbits ran like hounds from hell. Check out what Nisimura is doing with the NSX:
Okay, next stop? Reduced to 400PP - but I had one dirty move - I had to tap
Nisimura towards the end of the last lap before the final straight, and slowed him down shocked for a second. This let
Holopainen driving the Trueno ahead of him to block him, and Holopainen came in second. I didn't have to block Holopainen, the Evoque was still quick enough to get to the line, but the Trueno
did come up fast enough to almost kiss my ass as I took the chequers:
Third race, reeled down to 383 PP, 50% power, some bolt-ons, still running ABS1, TCS1, and everything else voided.
This one needed some strategy. So I thought - okay, I'll first take out Holopainen bad - this would throw him back into the mid-pack and that would also slow them all down further. That would also give me a chance to get to Nisimura and take him out real bad so that
he would end up in the mid-pack, and Holopainen take over, but by which time I would hopefully be home and away. Was quite a tussle, but I managed - only two dirty moves which were the nasty hooks I threw at Nisimura and Holopainen. Or so I thought. As I went down the straight for the final time suddenly
Marchal in the Legacy and
de Clerq in the Silvia get magic powers and chase me to the line like rabid rabbits.
Obviously there was no magic -
- the final standings show that they are doing their fastest, but it seems really fast to me because at this low PP I'm maxing out, too.
Finally, for my fourth and last (so far) race the Evoque was slammed down to 353 PP - I'm carrying almost 27 pounds per horse. That's a lot. There are cars are out there that carry just over a pound per horse. I was transporting bricks!
:
What a race it was! Two dirty moves and a final block-session that would have had the spectators hooting, but edge of the seat excitement for me and heart-pounding all right. When these rabbits get nasty, they can make your pulse race.
Final standings - almost a minute away from my time in Race 1 (450PP)
First dirty move was at the beginning of the second lap - first turn - I've reached the top of the tail-enders, and trying to get to the bottom of the mid-pack - but
Maddox in the Camaro tries to get away and slow me down.
I let him get away - he was going to end up as a brake-block if he wanted to play like that.
A slight tap to get his ass out of the way:
Then I was through:
Next dirty move, a light trading of paint with Chang in the red Lancer Evo, who was playing blocker at the bottom of the mid-pack:
Then working through the mid-pack, fast and clean, with Holopainen finally in sight:
Holopainen is playing dirty, too - the AI have no problem playing dirty if the player is playing dirty. :
Finally I get past Holopainen, and we head into the final straight for the end of the second lap. Menwhile Nisimura is playing pace car out in front, and I'm on pins - could I catch him up? And what was Holopainen and the gang up to? If they took me out on the straight I would have a set-back all right.
So we head down the straight guns blazing. I'm doing my best to stay away from them.
We end up ready to duke it out at the corner. This is a classic shot - one of my favourites in my albums now. Once again I realise that when we go in with over-powered or ill-matched cars we have no time to really race the rabbits - we just zoom past them - in effect they become just rolling roadblocks; we have created our own reality.
But in a car that you cannot be a bully, then we're stuck with the AI right beside us every step of the way, and this not only makes us understand them more because of the greater time spent with them, but also gives us many breathless minutes of flank-to-flank racing.
And I mean flank . . to . . flank:
I grab the corner with just a split-second's late-braking, keeping my ass off their inquisitive noses:
I finally catch up with Nisimura. As you can see from the GPS readout I have finally got away from the mid-pack and you can see also see how much Nisimura has rabbitted away while I've been tussling with the field trying to get to him.
I sweep past him cleanly, but now I know I have a major block-session ahead of me.
Meanwhile, because Nisimura can't pass me, I've suddenly inherited a challenge from Marchal in the Legacy:
You can see him turn his wheels and try to spin me - well, hell, he can race dirty, too:
Nisimura is hanging back, letting his hitman do the job, so he can streak past the line. I'm holding on to the Evoque - easy with all that extra weight! - and maintaining my momentum!
Finally come in with the win, milliseconds to spare, and what a great race!
So I'm going back later - try to find another field - maybe the one with that ace rabbit Vitale (fastest I've seen so far in this event,) and see what transpires.
If I come across this pack again, and I have the Evoque with me I might go in with less than 350 PP, but I know I'm going to be in for one helluva tussle.
